COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This ale was brewed back in 2008, and in collaboration with brew master Rychei Sugawa San from Rio Brewing & Co. Our goal was to brew a Belgian dark golden blond quadrupel with an enormous potential of aromas and flavors, and added complexity due to oak barrel aging. Bourbon barels from Kentucky were chosen due to their very special soft roast quality and noble vanilla flavors. Year upon year, different quality controls were executed, and we finally decided to bottle condition this very special ale in May 2012. Another three moths of cold maturing was done at the brewery, so we could be sure about the absolute quality before releasing to our customers.

75cl Bottle at UDRBM. Hazy dark amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of vanilla and oak, quite sweet, lots of malts, light yeasty, sweet ripe fruits. Flavour is sweet, thick malty, ripe fruits, vanilla, oak, sweet bourbon finish with a light bitterness. Full-bodied. Nice sipper.

Dark brown, hazy and off white head. Dark yeast, bready, spices, nuts and sweet malts. Thick sweet base, syrup, apple juice. Lots of balancing hops. Residual sugars, barley wine like. It’s a tasty winter warmer. (UDRBM)

Bottle at UDRBM. Hazy copper pour with chunks and a thin white head. Aroma full of sweet ripe fruits, alcohol and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet, alcoholic and fruity. Still a nice balance and a decent body. Quite lovely brew.

Bottle @ tasting. Aroma has some bourbon, vanilla and wood, some caramel, touch of spice. Flavour is sweet caramel goodness, woody vanilla, molasses, liquorice and more. A bit sweet but very nice.

Bottle at Birch and Barley; huge thanks to Brett, Erik, Greg, and the whole staff for an awesome evening!! Pours definitely lighter for a quadrupel, sort of an orange almond color, with a decent white head. Nose and flavor are really magnificent, and so outrageously balanced; beautiful combination of nectar fruit and dark fruit, with big apricot, plum, and raisin character. Both barrel treatments come through subtly but stunningly, with touches of vinous tannin and vanilla sweetness. Not even remotely hot; the mouthfeel is absolutely divine. A lovely lovely lovely brew from Urbain.

Draft @ ‘t Schooltje, merci Carlo.

Tap, pours a dark brown, aroma is a carmelly and gots some cherry smell. The beer is very full bodied and it has a smooth texture with a lots of dark fruits in the flavours, a bit spicey kind of nutmegy around the edges. Overall, a nice offering

Pours orange with a nice white foam. Wild reductive notes then subtle flowers, honey, malt extract, bretty notes appear with a great oaky/whisky contribution to the beer. Huge brew.

Bottle courtesy of Fux, synthetic cork
Bourbon and wine barrel

Cloudy amber color, small head. The aroma is malty, some wood and vanilla, light alcohol. Full bodied; sweet malt flavor, nice delicate vanilla and oak presence, but also a moderate tannic and vinous touch.
Fully mature, complex, very good.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours clear amber with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, some funk and tartness. Malty flavor with a bit of fruit before a toffee sweet finish.
