Bottle with some friends 75CL. Looks like a copper pennySmells insanely sweet and a bit of oak. I don’t get any bourbon on the nose. Taste is like brandy and a belgian quad had a baby. finish is a bit too sweet and its not a complex beer at all but certainly can use more aging.

2009 vintage on tap at Het Oude Schooltje, Oostvleteren. Hazy amber, thick head. Appleish caramel nose, hints of tropical fruit. Nice marcipane flavours, still very fruity. Delicious.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 rating based on the 2009 version. 75cl bottle shared. pours a light orange color with a creamy head. the oak and bourbon smell is there right away. orange, red fruits, some wine smell, sugar... had the 2008 version on tap. wich is a lot better as this one

Clear amber pour with an offwhite head. Taste is malty, caramel, bourbon, wood, fruit, white wine and a little hint of vanilla. Really weird take on a quad but very nice.

Bottle @ Cervezorama. Reserva 2009. Light brown with an off-white head with medium lasting. Aroma is light acidic and malty, caramel and yeasty. Flavor is also acidic with vinegar hints, fruity and barrel notes, caramel and toffe is also present. The final is fruity with a good balance between the toffee notes and bourbon

APPEARANCE: dark blond clear beer, nice stable off white head.
NOSE: caramel, alcohol, candy, some liquorice, fruity, some grapes? wood.
TASTE: caramel, somewhat smoked, alcohol warming feeling, wood, vinous, quite a heavy taste, really complex and powerful.

On tap at CBC2012. Beer in the glass amber coloured, nice head. Starts sweet-malty, getting drier. Fruity hints of apricot. Finish warming, some smokey-malty notes. nteresting beer!

Draught at Fermentoren. Almost clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma heavy malty (caramel, dark fruits, wood/barrels, bourbon. Flavor almost heavy sweet, light spicy, light hoppy. Full body, quite flat, some warming alcohol in the finish. Super nice. Called vintage 2009.

Appearance: Amber color with a tan head.
Aroma: Sweet fruity, light acidic, light oak and caramel malty.
Palate: Medium to full body. A round fine sweetness and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation.
Taste: A bit sweet fruity, caramel malty, oak and some mild spices. Warming alcohol.
Overall impression: Holy diver!
