Bottle, 2011 edition. Hazy chestnut brown with a medium sized diminishing beige head. Red berries, pepper, dusty, mouldy bread, electrical fire. Medium body, creamy texture, soft carbonation, light/medium sweet and bitter. Soft and pleasant mouthfeel, but unconvincing aroma.

PapaVillum (425) - Valby, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2014
33 cl, flaske, 6,0 % ABV, købt i Den Belgiske Ølbutik i Vanløse, 18. august 2014. Medium CO2. Udmærket, omend lidt underlig.

Shared a 33cl bottle from the brewery. Pours a hazy brown colour with a off-white head that quickly vanishes. Caramel, Belgian yeast and toasted aroma. Average carbonation and medium body. Taste is well balanced with some bitter and sweet in equal parts and some caramel and spices notes. Overall a very nice beer than I will certainly have again.

A bad surprise with a Struise beer. Maybe it's because I always keep my expectations at very high levels for anything that comes from them. The beer pours a cloudy dark amber. The head quickly dies down to a thin collar. It smells slightly sweet with notes of caramel. Not really sure about what happened but after one or two sips it seemed to me that taste moved to almost-insipid and the smell disappeared.
