Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 28, 2008 Bottle. High creamy good looking white head. Hazy dark orange body. Strong barley malt aroma, simple but good. Astonishingly mild and sweet barley malt flavor without much hops bitterness. Low carbonation and a long sweet aftertaste. JK (2945), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jan 27, 2008 A very dry Belgian ale. Light malt and lots of hops. Some sugar, and a cloudy appearance. Spicy. Very good palate, like I would expect from Struise. joebrew (608), Farewell Minny; Hello Puyallup, Washington, USA Jan 16, 2008 MN Winter RB Gathering. Very nice ripe, tropical, and citrus fruits, as well as a nice dose of biscuity malt and a light yeaty spiciness. Very nice and well made beer. tytoanderso (1382), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA Jan 16, 2008 Bottle provided by joebrew. Fruity esters on the nose: banana and pineapple. Some dry, dusty hay-like yeast. Pours a slightly viscous looking bright gold. An odd agave nectar malt presence on the tongue. Honey, bread dough and pineapple as well. Medium bodied finishing with a good dose of dusty yeast.
I think this is what I wanted to say. My notes in my phone under "palate" read as follows: "med nod fubudgeds teasty." I have no idea what the hell that means. hellomynameis (794), Mayer, Minnesota, USA Jan 12, 2008 Really light amber colour with a bit of light head. Nothing much in the aroma. Nice flavour, some funk and fruit and yeast character. Interesting for a simple belgian ale. BDR (2139), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jan 12, 2008 Sweet malty nose with belgian candy sugar. Cloudy yellow body. Sweet almost cloying body with some bananaish spice. Joebrew rocks for sharing. daniele (1640), Italy Jan 10, 2008 rossa buona schiuma persistente note nete di noccialo lieve caramello malto lieviti in bocca prevale inizialmente la nocciala poi malto comunque secca e i lieviti un nota forse un po ferrosa yousee (48), Belgium Nov 7, 2007 33cl bottle at KBF Poperinge. Pours a hazy amber coulered beer with the slightests of heads. Aroma is very nutty, some caramel, and notes of wheat and different spices. The taste is very smooth, hints of nuts, yeast, bread, and quite peppery. Low bodied, almost no lacing, but still enough complexity for a low alcohol beer.
