Hazy amber with a thick white head. Flowery and spicy notes. Taste of bananas and malt. Medium body with a bittersweet finish.

330ml bottle (Pikkulintu, Helsinki) Hazy orangy red, at first fizzy head, settles to soemthing lighter and more persistent. Sweet malty aroma. Sweet malty taste, slightly nutty bitterness, quite crisp peppery hops and some spicyness from the yeast. Some sourness there too. Kind of like a sweet weak blond, a bit gutless for a Belgian ale. (Had twice, a year apart, came to same conclusion both times.) Horribly over-rated.

2007 bottle. pours muddy orangeish-amber with white head. just a horrible color. nose is rather fruity with apples and caramel. flavor is raw and fruity, apples, and plums, and nuts. finish is clean and dry with fruits. mouth feel is full. carbonation is low-med. a decent amber with a horrible look.

Bottle. Glowy red amber packed with detritus. Murkily opaque with creamy white collar. Banana-hued esters on the snout, with ginger and a sprinkle of clove. Smells like a big fruity Bavarian. Flavour earthier, with apple peel, smoky malt, caramel, a peppering of spice. Dustily fruity, malty, slightly tart, and finally dry. Misled by the nose. Nothing special. (re-rate, as ’Cuvee Mon Bijou’). As usual with Struise, 70% of the bottle spurted all over the worktop. Good riddance. What was left was undrinkable. Varnish, sickbowl and pondwater.Appalling.

Bottle @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Dark honey/mead colour, bright white head. Spicy aroma, not too strong though. A bit disappointing taste, not strong at all.

75 cl. bottle. Golden, amber colour with a fizzy white head. Aroma of vinous, a little malt, and caramel. Flavour of mild malt, hints of caramel, and with a sweet vinous finish. Ends lighty bitter and almost no hoppyness.

33 cL. Thickly hazy amber with lacy, off-white, fast-fading head. Yeasty aroma with some faint notes of sour apple, almonds, spices, metal. Flavor has some tart fruits that melt into mildly bitter hops, with a dry, bitter finish and aftertaste. Spicy hops and lively carbonation. Lots of character and good balance. Enjoyed it.
