On tap at Brasserie V - Pours hazy rosy amber with a thin off-white head. Don’t see too many beers that look like this one. Smell is light cherry and bretty funk. Real dry. Taste is mostly the same. Light cherry with smooth, Orval-ish brett. Dry, mineral finish with a bit of hop bite. Really smooth carbonation. Effervescent. Real nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Borresteijn (2596) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - FEB 16, 2011
33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Hazy dark amber colour, off white head. Aroma of Brettanomyces, sour/tart fruity and light bready, light malty, not unlike Orval imo. Flavour is light sweet, toasted malts, bit of caramel, dry nuts, tart fruit, Brett, light sour and dry finish. Medium bodied. Not quite what I expected, but nice, mainly because of the (imo) Orval resemblance.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 elihapa (1369) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - FEB 7, 2011
1/14/11 notes: tap, CAH. Pour is cloudy peach-amber. Aroma has lactic tartness, red fruit, minerals. Flavor starts with buttery notes and tart cherry, adding a peppery and mixed berry quality towards middle. Finishes with mild tang. Fairly simple, but refreshing and balanced.
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 wyzzywyz22 (1474) - Wirral, Merseyside, ENGLAND - FEB 1, 2011
Bottle from Struise Shop. Reddish amber pour with a middling but lingering white head. The nose was on the fragrant side of the tracks and showed some fruity qualities, alongside notes of spice, hops and caramel malts. Taste wise similar elements were present, as was some yeastiness and a slight sour kick. Things dried out markedly towards the finish. All considered this was tasty and not lacking in some charm.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 janubio (223) - SPAIN - JAN 12, 2011
When poured carefully, it has one of the nicest colours I’ve seen in a beer, amber to red, when not it’s opaque. Good head, that does not hold much. Smell reminds of a cyder, with some light spices and sweet fruits notes. Thin body that does not help much. Mouth it’s dry but sweet, with some strawberry notes and some spices. Sure there are some other things, but very mildly, and I feel watery in tongue. I was expecting more.
