MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA May 18, 2008 Amber pour tall dense white head, no real lacing. Almost no aroma, light grains... and ??. Palate is light and fluffy touch of creaminess in the finish. Flavor is odd, finishes w/ a sweet almost grainy taste.. leaves a taste I can’t really Id but I like it.. odd flavors imparted in the yeast here... I like this beer though. kkearn (995), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA May 14, 2008 2007. 33cL bottle, thanks to my cousin ggaughan. Pours amber with a slightly orange hue; capped with a moderate sized off-white head. Sweet aroma, with tropical fruit - most notably pineapple - along with wheat and caramel. Flavor is primarily wheat, with some coriander, caramel and sugar. Very easy to drink. Malty nose with dark fruit, blood oranges, yeasty and slightly acetic, earthy notes. Malty taste with notes of dark fruit, roasted nuts, black-currant and a slightly earthy bitterness in the finish. Discreet yeasty hints, very fresh flavours. Nice balance, good beer. tarjei (1741), Bryne, Norway May 11, 2008 330 ml bottle, 2007-version, abv is 6,0%. Hazy amber color, off-white head. Aroma of floral, leather, mustiness, earth, grass, and roasted nuts. Flavor of floral hops, lemon, and herbs with a dry finish. chriso (4685), London, Greater London, England May 8, 2008 Bottle at de Garre, Brugge, April 2008. Hazy, coppery red colour. Some sour fruit notes. Quite subtle. Dry and slightly bitter. Fruit lingers in the aftertaste. Nicely drinkable. Not one of Struise’s blockbusters but a very enjoyable beer.
wacho (51), Izegem, Belgium May 2, 2008 donderkoperen uitstraling. Hazy orange color. Small, creamy head. Very soft round aroma of vanilla, cardamom, rye and phenols. High carbonation, but very soft, round and focused. A hint of sourness on the palate. A bit thin and weak. Some green apples in the finish and finally a soft bitterness. This beer would be really good at two percent more alcohol, so the body would match the aroma.
