Rossa, molto maltata, niente di eccezionale...
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 corkyrory66 (235) - BELGIUM - MAY 1, 2013
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 bartlebier (464) - Baden-Württemberg, GERMANY - APR 23, 2013
33cl bottle courtesy of kraddel@Post Toer de Geuze tasting. - My light and supposedly sessionable entry beer was a typical Struise brew, a quality mix of earthy tones, subdued older hop spice and loads and layers of caramel fruit tones fighting to play center stage. Typical Belgians this heavy on caramel and syrup are less and less pleasing to my palate, but the effort to keep this moderately dry and drinkable goes appreciated.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Theydon_Bois (2957) - The ’Sham, Surrey, ENGLAND - APR 19, 2013
Bottle, from Dranken Geers, at the 500 miles tasting in the Sham, 23/03/13.
Hazed russet red/chestnut brown with a thin beige head that clears to a light film.
Nose is malt forward, dark fruits, sour tones, caramel, sugars.
Taste comprises caramel, dark fruits - lightly soured, dates, orange.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with light sweetness.
Ok decent enough stuff.

Bottle:
Big sticky tan foamy head that changes slowly into a thick lacing on top of a deep dark bloody cherry candy red colored beer.
Aromas of red and ripe brown fruit, cherries, raisin, strawberry, brown sugar, spices, toasted malts, sticky autumnal herbs, toffee, some cherry sour aromas and a hint of caramel.
Flavours of red fruit, cherry, strawberry, chalk, roast, bitters, spices, barley malts, bread, light floral, speculaas spices, some floral and plant tones, light dry.
Aftertaste is bitter with spicy tones, some toast/roast, bread, hay and malts.
Low carbo, soft mouthfeel, good medium to lightly fuller body and a light creamy texture.
A lovely smelling beer which just lacks a bit of body.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Swaroga (792) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAR 16, 2013
33cl bottle. Dark amber/red and hazy. Small head. Nose : yeast, wet laundry, tart, cooked fruits, dried plums. Sip : as usual smooth and medium thick. Low carbonation. Sweet with flavors of tart, cooked and dried fruits. Caramel, toffee. The beer is well balanced but not that balanced as the usual brew from De Struise. Delicate bitter finish with spices that leave a residue on the tongue. The beer is ok and easy to drink.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MrHangover (1102) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAR 7, 2013
Bottle. Pours a cloudy brown, reddish colored beer with a small, off white head on top. Aroma is faint, balanced between yeastiness and some malts. Faint fruity notes detected. Not really too impressive. Flavour is on the sweeter side of the palate, has a lot malts and even a little touch of molasses. Very subtle, smooth mouthfeel, this goes down well. No alcohol detected, easy drinkable, decent brew. Nice.
