Gusher alert! Pours dark orange with a foamy white head. Aroma of malts, notes of honey, spices, berries and ripe fruits. Taste is malty, stingy and bitter with hints of tart berries and fruits. Finish is malty, stingy and dry with hints of alcohol and tart berries. Unbalanced, quite messy.

100. rating for this beer!
Exploded from the bottle in the form of a foam. Aroma is sourish with apricot, some berries, nettles and biscuits. Flavour is somewhat tart with nettles, apricot, berries, biscuits and fruity notes. Hides the ABV rather well. Decent.
3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 n0mel (250) - FINLAND - OCT 26, 2012
(From notes 19 Oct, 2012) Bottle. Off-white (on the beige side) fluffy head. The beer is a hazy amber color. Aroma is some peach, fruity hops, sugar. Flavors peach and slightly bitter. Pretty soft on the palate. Finish is dry, bitter and some alcohol burn.
Overall, the aroma is nice, but otherwise a mediocre brew. I would have liked the flavors to have been more on the sweeter side. Unpleasant bitterness and some strange flavors (hard to specify). Might have to try this again to confirm, though.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 gEUS (573) - Linden, BELGIUM - OCT 2, 2012
shared by BelgBeerGeek during the epic beer tasting - pours dark orange with a white frotty head; aroma of caramel and clear madeira. Medium body, with the alcohol coming clearly through. Not my favourite Struise beer.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 kraddel (841) - deurne, BELGIUM - SEP 8, 2012
pours blonde, with brown at the end. so in the glass its blonde-brown, very hazy ( you cant see anything trough it )
onley a very small , common scnet.
taste is sweet ( did they use honey?) , more carbonation than i’m used to of struise, but still very nice done. there’s also a little aftertaste, sweet and bitter. not the worse beer in the genre, but there are better too...
thnx very much to belgbeergeek for this bottle !
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 HogTownHarry (5632) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - AUG 30, 2012
330ml bottle courtesy of harrisoni. Quite a gusher, once under control, it poured almost muddy brown-amber with a small but lasting drool of beige head. Very malty, caramel but not all that sweet - and ... and ... is that a crap-top of dry herbal bitterness? some alcohol? Taste - yep, malty and massively grassy/herbal - no idea of the alcohol on this ... sort of barleywine-ish. Thick, light carbonation, quite an interesting bitter finish. I really don’t know what to make of it - but I liked it!!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Bart (2915) - Brussels, BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2012
75cl Bottle @ RBBSG, courtesy of BelgBeerGeek. Hazy amber coloured beer with a small white hjead, some yeast parts and medium carbonation. Strong yeasty vanilla and alcoholic hinted aroma. Full palate. Finish is strong alcoholic with some yeasty touches coming back. Strong but nice.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 tderoeck (3000) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 24, 2012
11/VIII/2012 - 33cl bottle @ RBBSG - (2012-889) Thanks to BelgBeerGeek for sharing the bottle!
Clear amber beer, aery off-white head, unstable, little adhesive. Aroma: sweet sugary, caramel, pretty fruity, alcohol, bit floral, some vanilla. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: chocolate start, alcohol ,some citrus, caramel, little bitter from the hops. Aftertaste: sweet sugary, bitter hops and again some citrus. Not too complex, but it is very balanced and interesting. Age probably has to do with it.
