4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Temptation (126) - - MAY 14, 2013
Very, very dark brown with ruby glitters color. No head nor lace. Excellent aromas to prunes, raisins, brown sugar, red fruits, nuts, Porto wine...and more, pretty complex but perfectly structured. The mouthfeel is quite solid, to sweet wine, dried prunes, liquorice, rhum, cane sugar and raisins. Medium carbonated, full bodied but not heavy, impressive palate. The overall is impeccable, almost perfect. As usual in De Struise beers, a huge, superb beer.

Bottle at Farmers Cabinet. 2011 vintage. Very nice chewy chocolate caramel raisins. Dark pour with a nice foamy head. Rich, full and succulent. Sweet dark fruits. Rotted sugared fruit. Much better than I anticipated it would be. Fantastic!

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 PeatyPete (89) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 5, 2013
The label appears to be a simple printing from an inkjet printer. But do not be tempted by the outside. Once in the glass, this Quadruple is a full and adult beer. Ripe fruit and a creamy fluidity. Good and tasty.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 TrefwoordPunk (707) - Leiden, NETHERLANDS - MAY 2, 2013
Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark reddish brown with a small tan head and an aroma of ripe fruits, maybe vherries and prunes, raisins, toffee and some earth. The taste is sweet, but not too sweet considering the style and the alcohol is just a bit noticable. Good malty taste, with a creamy mouthfeel and lots of different notes including some vanilla and caramel. A really nice quadruple!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dasdan (133) - BELGIUM - MAY 1, 2013
33cl bottle from dranken Geers in Oostakker. Dark brown body with a beige head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts, dark chocolat and drop. A little too "heavy". ***
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 phaleslu (4431) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - APR 30, 2013
Pull from bsuedekum’s pour at Local Option- thanks again, Blake! Pours a cloudy amber-brown with a small beige head. Notes of rich roasted and caramel malts, tons of dark fruits (figs, raisins, plums), wood, vanilla, earth, and molasses. Big body, with a smooth mouthfeel and low carbonation. Dry finish. A superior take on the style to the Rio Reserva.
