Draft at The Old School. Pours clear orange amber with an off white head. Aroma of vanilla, toffee, fudge, light fruit, alcohol and sweet malt. Flavor is over moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with light carbonation. Very fresh (a little age may soften the alcohol) but excellent addition from the Bourbon barrels.

bbF 12 pours brown, white foam. . long story short, this tastes a lot like the rio reserva ( to me) . very much sweetness in this one. but hey, you gotta have a favourite, and mine betwen these two is still the rio.

Orange hazy and small head. Light funk, sweet hops, fruit, apple compote and barnyard. Aged. Light bitter. It’s great, but the pretence is killing this beer for me. (ZeeBra)

From the bottle a Zeebra Extreme fest. Poured a clear yellow with a small white head. Aroma of spiced citrus with the sweetness of the bourbon apparent over the top and a bit of caramel malt underlying it. Medium, wuite smooth body, flavour of spicey sweet orange with some wooden notes and lingering memories of the Wild Turkey giving rise to a lingering alcoholic aftertaste.

On tap at Borefts. Poured a deep amber with minimal head. Aroma is of fruits and nuts with an undertone of the bourbon. Flavour is sweet vanilla and raisin with the bourbon nicely soaking them, medium bodied. Nice sweet bourbon aftertaste, Dangerously drinkable.

Sample at ’het Schooltje’ Oostvleteren. I always imagine that the quality of the beer deteriorates a little because it’s kept for a longer time in the ’tap trailer’. Though amazing idea! Appearance: clear blonde beer, small stable head. Nose: very fruity, somewhat sour, some grains, bitter. Taste: very alcoholic start and finish. Lots of sugar, caramel, some fruits, lots of bourbon in my experience.

on tap @ Borefts 2012 - pours clear intense yellow with a 3 finger head. Aroma’s of malt, caramel... and definitely almonds. Huge body with immersive sweetness and taste of caramel and bready maltiness. I don’t have a sweet tooth when it comes to beers, but this works out well!
