UPDATED: NOV 6, 2013 750ml bottle @Cimmeria. On tap @Struise, courtesy of Urbain. Liquor, fruity, liquorice aromas. Pours hazy golden with avergae white head, some lacing. Medium body, average to soft carbonation, oily texture. Taste is wood, liquor, liquorice, fruity. Quite enjoyable.

Bottle. Sampling at Lefty’s place. Yeast and subtle barrel notes. Copper-amber color, and a one-finger creamy head. Smooth rich barrel initial, with dark sugar and vanilla / sweet fruit gathers intensity throughout mid and final. Medium-heavy body, Very good, but the sweetness dominates a bit too much (for me). Not exactly cloying, but too much.

Poured amber. Soft belgian yeast. Mild bourbon smell. Honey spice, Jelly jam, delayed boozy burn is the only indicator of it being 10%. Very soft on the palate. The carbonation gives a great mouth feel. Light bourbon flavor allows all the other flavors to open up.

At a tasting at KyotoLefty’s place. A dark red amber pour with a thick off-white head. A strong bourbon aroma with belgian yeast fruity notes. Bourbon/whiskey & vanilla notes. This is a barrel-aged beer all the way. Technically competent and a good example of what barrel aging can do.

Bottle from the brewery. Bourbon, vanilla, oak, biscuity malt, yeasty spice. Pretty amber orange with lace. Sweet malt, vanilla, caramel, jammy fruits, light honey. Soft, silky cabonation, oily body. Lovely body. Finished dry.

Draft at GBD (Golden Brown Delicious) in DC. Poured a slightly hazy orange color with a small, wispy white head. Aroma in this one was plenty of sweet malts, barrel, some tangerine, vanilla. Notes of fruits in this one, with a nice barrel character. Alcohol well masked in this one.

Bottle. Pours Hazy Orange Amber with a thick White head. Fruity nose with vanilla from the barrel ageing. Good carbonation. The barrel ageing is on top but there’s layers of fruit and caramel throughout. Oak, fruity Belgian notes and plenty of booze. This is a complex beast.

Ungstrup (34226) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - OCT 2, 2013
Draft at Borefts BF 2012. A hazy dark amber beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, malt, alcohol, fruits on the over ripe side, and alcohol, leading to a bitter finish.

Foxy red-orange beer, very well-carbonated to huge yellow head. Overpowering nose with a mix of citrus (orange, and indeed, tangerine, peel) and alcohol - ethanol ànd fusels. Taste of pure alcohol - again ethanol + fusels. Duvel ³ -with citrus and zeste. Base is quite sweet, but the B.A. has worked well. Very carbonated - certainly for a B.A. beer - well-bodied, slick, alcoholheat. Way too sharp-alcoholic to my liking. Duvellovers might adore this one.
