Barrel and malty aroma is awesome. It looks in the glass great as well, deep golden color and nice delicate head. In taste itís disappointment in my opinion. I was expecting massive explosion of flavours and barrel notes. There is a little bit of barrel ab front, but after this itís rather empty for such a huge beer. A bit of wooden notes in the aftertaste, great pleasant mouth feel with great alcohol touch. Quite a big gushing while opening the bottle. In overall itís still a great beer, but I was expecting so much more, especially after other beers from these brewery.

11.2oz bottle poured allowed to warm for a while then poured into a snifter. 2012 vintage. A: Foam rose up the neck upon uncapping and would certainly have overflowed the bottle if not quickly emptied into my glass. It poured a murky & cloudy chestnut brown color with a well-proportioned, off-white head that had good, but not excellent, retention. Some spotty lacing left behind. Aroma: Too much alcohol, but otherwise very nice, with a rich and complex mix of dark fruits and light spices and with a bready yeastiness. Flavor - similar to the smell, but with more hidden alcohol, light woody notes, and a less pronounced fruitiness. Some mild barrel aging evident in the aftertaste. Feel: Ample but soft (natural?) carbonation thatís well matched to the flavor profile and medium body. O: impressed by the balance and complexity, Iíll head back to get some more of this for Xmas gifts.

12oz bottle pours a hazy brown color without much head. Lots of malt and some bourbon spirit flavor. Spices are a little overpowering. Smooths out with some time to breathe.

Clear light brown with fast vanishing head. Caramel, bourbon, wood cask. Sweet with a dry and light sour finish. A very good siruppy sipper.

Bottle 0.33l at Stadin Panimobaari, Helsinki. Colour is deep orange with very small white head. Aromas and flavours: Some fruits, candies, dryness, some wood and malts. This is very strange.

Bottle 330ml, very strong gashing - at least 1/4 of the bottle were lost. Pours cloudy dark amber with strong and pillowy white head that remain for a very long time. Aroma of cherries, vanilla, raisin, toast, caramel and wood. High sweetness in foreground dominates the taste, in the background light bitterness with some sourness in the aftertaste. Medium bodied but all in all quite flat for that high abv. Drinkable but I expected more.

0,33L bottle, 2013 vintage (from beergium.com). Pours brown with beige head. The head stays. Aroma is sweet, malty, fruity, very spicy, and some sour notes with touch of bourbon. Flavor is very sweet, malt, christmas spices, some notes of barrel, but not that much bourbon. Finish is sweet and dry bitter with spices and some notes of alcohol. Overall: very nice brew.
