4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle huge thanks to travlr!! Shared with GT2 as well. Beautiful hazy amber/peach pour. Nose and flavor hold wonderful apricot and nectarine, light but lovely vanilla and touches of bourbon, and bready dough. Sweet but not too syrupy, would be outrageously good with a piece of cheesecake. Very very nice.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thanks to Tommy, my last of the Belgian beers he sent me! Like the last bottle I opened, I am greeted with an explosion of foam. The pour is light cloudy brown. The smell is bits of spices, some candy. Taste is very oaky, with bits of spice and burnt finish. My least favourite of the three that I tried.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
11.2 oz. bottle, pours a cloudy opaque dark orange with a medium white head. Aroma of bourbon notes, perfume, alcohol and a bit of candied sugar – no tripel notes under here. Flavour is a yeast soup, bringing out notes of bourbon, yeast, a little candied sugar, and some toffee. Interesting mix of flavours – not sure why you’d bourbon barrel age a tripel. Very yeasty and quite bourbony. Good stuff, but I much prefer the base beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle [330ml] shared with and c/o HogTownHarry. 2011 vintage. Pours a murky orange-amber with an average size lasting frothy off-white head. Slightly mild aroma is sweet, sugary and yeasty along with dark fruit, caramel malt and a bit of alcohol. Flavour of caramel malt, dark fruit, yeast, sugar and a slightly harsh finish. Alcohol is fairly well hidden. Average bodied. I didn’t really get much of the "barrel-aged" qualities but I didn’t mind, I didn’t love it either, I found it just ’good’.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy orange with little white head and almost no lacing. Aroma of spices, fruits like pears and maybe some peaches, a bit of oak, light vanilla. Taste is fruity just like the nose, with more spices, some oak, light vanilla, peppery. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. The barrel aging is a bit more present than the port version.
