Bottle from Bier Temple, Brussels. Smell and aroma is less distinctive comparing to "Struise Tsjeeses Reserva PBA (Port Barrel Aged)" but this has been one of my favorite Belgian Strong Ale. Amazing taste and you feel the alcohol taste less comparing to other standard Belgian Strong Ale! Loved it! Congrats Struise! Very well done! (The bottle I have doesn’t mention about Bourban Barrel Aging on it)

Two 330ml bottles as Tsjeeses Reserva and Tsjeeses Reserva BBA

2011 vintages. Regular version doesn’t have any mentioning of bourbon barreling and they have a different BBE and batch numbers - Pours dark brown with a smooth white head. Aroma of ripe fruits, toffee, syrup and caramel, with some spices, wood and oak. Taste is woody, ripe fruity and sweetish with loads of syrup, candi sugar, wood and oak. Finish is woody and sweetish with some toffee, syrup and caramel. They botht taste quite similar. BBA version is just slightly sweeter, but the difference is really subtle.

33cl bottle. Abundant white foamy head, brown to amber very cloudy appearence. Smells real caramel, candied sugar, fresh, fizzy spiced, toffee, soo wrapping and nice, bit alcoholic, barreled mmmh. Tastes obviously generously malted, caramelized with a slight burnt, dried/orange fruits, barrel, nice yeast fragrance, tobacco; medium very pleasent sweetness, balanced by a low end hoppy biscuity, woody bitterness. Medium/heavy but slick texture, right moderate carbonation, gorgeous balance. Really liked this one, consistent drinakble and complex belgian

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep copper with a big frothy head. Nose - fruitcake basically. There’s a bit of dried fruit and a dominant cake mixture note. Ginger and cinnamon too Taste - ginger cake and dried fruit. Palate - medium to full bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long balanced finish. Overall - very enjoyable.

330 ml bottle, pours clear cherry red with a foamy white head, bready, caramel and candy sugar malts combine to give a danish pastry like backbone, with stewed apple, peach, gooseberry. Woody and bourbon hues add more more depth to this complex brew. Body is medium sweetness, lightly bitter, lightly sour, medium body, sticky, average carbonation. Complex and unusual, and very good.
