Kerstbierfestival 2009. Pours a clear dark golden color with copper highlights and floaties, the head is thin and offwhite. Aroma of wood, citrus, yeast and spices with some sweetness. Solid flavor of wood, citrus, yeast and spices with some sweetness. The body is light to medium with a vinous texture and soft carbonation. Very good.

Muddy orange with a small white head. Fresh and fruity yeast aroma with citrus, pineapple, bubblegum and some herbal hop notes. Flavour is fruity and spicy with alcohol and a slightly tannic dry finish. Tasted opposite the regular Tjeeses, this really lacks in complexity and spiciness.

TFODRBSG08 Courtesy of Brugmansia. It’s hazy orange and the head is nice and creamy. The aroma has a light sweetness and a lot of fruits, a little yeast and very little oak. The flavour has sweetness, notes of candy sugar, malt, fruit, citrus and very little oak. It’s smooth, sweet and ends on a dry, citrussy note.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2010 Bottle, 75cl, courtesy of Brugmansia. It pours an orange-golden hazy body with a nice off-white head on top. Balanced and in a strange way slightly boring nose with lemon, malty sweetness and a sourish touch. The flavor is lovely sweet and sourish with some spices added. Really balanced, and with a slightly spicy finish. Full-bodied and almost sticky sweet, quite effervescent. A really balanced and delightful beer. Rating: 7-4-8-4-16-3.9. 080823

Bottle, 33cl. A more or less clear beer, except for lots of chunks. Golden-orange in color, and a dense off-white head resting on top. It’s a bit rounder in aroma than the normal Tsjeeses, fruity and with some oxidation, cellar and alcohol. Compared to the un-barreled edition, it’s more evident on the alcohol, and the sourness and sweetness more rounded off, integrated. Full-bodied and smooth on the palate. A nice and harmonic beer, but I prefer the regular Tsjeeses with it’s more pronounced flavors and less alcohol burn. Stilll, a nice beer indeed. 100409

Hazy amber with a small lacing head. Sweet nose, candy, fruity esters, bit yeasty. Full bodied yet drinkable and smooth, spicy and a fruity maltiness toward a complex end. Expect more dryness for the style.

75cl bottle, poured a deep amber with a frothy head. Full-bodied, with apricots and spices (cloves? coriander?) on the nose and palate.

100th rating of this brew. Bottle @ Post Belgian Fest killer tasting dubbed Sea O’Floydster, with a load of cool people including Cquiroga, floydster, seaoflament and many others including my girlfriend and dr.bill. Pours yellow with a bright white head. Nose is sweet and tart. Taste is sweet, rich and pretty boozy.

7/16/2009: Struise Tsjeeses Reserva has soft plum and flat caramel in its aroma. The beer has a cloudy orange-amber color and a bubbly off-white crown. It tastes pretty good and has dried dates, caramelized sugars, hints of Christmas-like spices (nutmeg, allspice, etc.), and hints of smoke/char in its medley of flavor. It finishes dry and woody. This medium-bodied beer has an airy mouth feel. Overall I enjoyed this beer, but it seemed to be lacking complexity/depth.

33 cl bottle (Alc 10% Vol; TSJ no 11 X-Max Brew; Aged 6 months on oak) shared by alexsdad06. Thanks! Rating #127 for this beer.
