Struise beers are a mystery. You never know if you’ll find a wonderful beer or a good but not the height of fantantiques beers that occasionally you are. This is one of those who had not tasted; a powerful strong ale with a very correct treatment of the alcohol, perhaps too ditecte and lack of nuances. That if a good beer again. Maybe too young

2013 vintage. Rich red-amber colour with generous creamy beige head. Sweet aromas of toffee, port wine, plums, belgian yeast and oak. The taste has a lot of port notes, cherry, toffee, oak tannins, strong grassy hop bitterness and dryness, but still a lingering sweetness in the finish. Full bodied. Pretty good but a bit too much residual sweetness.

Red amber color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of wood, port, spices, citrus, and alcohol. Taste of sweeter port, spices, citrus, vanilla, wood, and booze in the finish.

Erg goed.

Bottle share round at Richy’s. Clear amber, with a bubbly, off white head. Very lively. Vine fruits. Port. Woody. Taste is tart, fruity dry. It’s a bit too fizzy, but manages to feel fairly rich and smooth.
