4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Thanks to travlr for sharing this beauty! Shared with GT2 as well. Lovely vibrant orange pour with a solid white head. Nose and flavor bring more barrel profile than the BBA variant, with nice vinous grape and lightly tannic fruit character, along with a slightly drier palate. Good apricot and yeast character from the base beer, as always. Delightful.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from tommy thank you good sir. Off pops the cap and holy shit we got a bleeder this thing is spraying everywhere, well bottoms up. Smell is like the original but with a bit more subtle sweetness, i get hints of honeydew? The taste is hard to differentiate from the original but that being said I have only had the other version once, it’s a bit sweeter but the finish is slighty sour/fruity I like all stuff from these guys.

Pours hazy amber. Nose is ripe fruit, banana, caramel, brown sugar, plum. Aroma is candied fruit, caramel, ripe apple, oak, vanilla. Very well balanced with subtle hints from the port barreling. Very goof indeed!!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Tried this in l’Express de Lyon in Paris, 33 cl bottle in pint glass. Poured dark orange/brown and cloudy with white lingering head and nice lacing. Subtle port flavor, I have tried the BBA version and this one is cleaner, both are excellent. Hides the alcohol well, dried fruit (figs, prunes) flavors with strong malt. Nice aroma and flavor, this is a fairly sweet beer with many layers.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
7th October 2012
Cloudy brown - amber beer, big pale cream coloured head. Palate starts soft but quickly turns crispy. Mild minerals. Creamy malt. Sweet spices. Holding it together is a mild red wine fruitiness. Creamy malt is the dominant flavour here, but overall a rich and tasty beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Poured into a goblet. 2011 vintage, PBA.
3.0 A: Murky amber brown. Half a finger of frothy beige head. Retention is poor and just a hair sized ring of lacing is left.
4.0 S: While this isn’t much to look at, the nose is quite nice. Sugary and fruity would be two good words to describe this. The residues of the candi sugar is potent, while the base gives lots of plum, fig, prunes, dates, tobacco, and raisin. There’s also a big vinous grapiness, which can likely be attributed to the port barrel. Peppery spiciness from the yeast. Caramel, a bit of toastiness, and a hint of molasses. Borderline 4.5, very nice.
3.5 T: The taste is good, but it doesn’t have the same vibrance found in the nose. You will find all the same flavors, but much less intensity. The fruitiness is especially reduced. Only plum and date comes through with any strength. The port becomes a bigger focus in the taste. Vinous grape, oak, and hints of vanilla. Mild peppery spice. Toastiness is enhanced, but caramel and molasses are almost lost. Basically, it’s just a less impressive version of the nose. Booze is well hidden.
4.0 M: Lighter to lighter medium body. Good moderate carbonation with a pleasant spritziness to it. No problems here, but a little more creaminess would make the mouthfeel even better.
4.0 D: A bit of a bonus here since the nose is so good. Overall, it’s a decent beer and I enjoyed it.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle(thanx to ThirstyBird!): Light amber coloured, stable off-white foamy layer, sweet fruity-caramelly nose with a vinous touch, but not a typical "port" flavour; solid sweet flavour, full bodied;sweet caramelly and vinous-fruity finish. Way too sweet, not very well balanced…

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy oange with thick white head and nice lacing. Aroma is fruity, some pears, peppery, yeasty. Taste has some yeast, light pears, pepper, very light oak, big malt presence. Medium to full body and medium carbonation. I wish i could taste more the barrel aging. Barely present. Still enjoyable.
