Bottle from Animal Bar, Madrid. Amber with a yellowish head. Vinous and fruity aroma. Spices, hints of vanilla, berries, quite sweet. Good, but expectations were higher.

Bottle: Poured a hazy dirty amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of sweet Belgian style malt with light port notes and a somewhat spicy yeast undertone. Taste is also a good mix dominated by a solid sweet Belgian style malt base with some spicy yeast notes with light peppery edge and a light woody and port barrel finish. Full body with great carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Solid offering for a brewer who rarely disappoint.

33cl bottle. Coppery colour with an off-white head, medium lasting. Aroma is malty, light caramel and biscuit. Flavor is sweet, candy sugar, bready, caramel, cookies, malty. The final is sweet, with a long duration, alcoholic in the aftertaste. Carbonation is medium. Body s medium to high.

33cl bottle. Pours a cloudy orange colour with big creamy off-white head. Head is good lacing and mostly lasting. Thick density with sediments. Aroma is lots of malt, bread, cookie and nutty with some hops and flowers too. Hints of prune and alcohol. Port wine is present. Flavor is initially very sweet with little acidic. Finish is long with moderate acidity, moderate bitterness and little sweetness. Port wine and wood. Palate is medium-full with creamy texture and lively carbonation. Itís warming with itís final sensation of light alcohol. The better version imho.

Bottle [330ml] shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, jerc & mabel -- c/o HogTownHarry. 2011 vintage. Pours a cloudy golden-orange with a small lasting frothy off-white head. Some floaties in there. Aroma of Belgian yeast, sugar, alcohol, some fruit and a touch of wood. Flavour is boozy, yeasty and very sweet -- too much so. Medium bodied. Slightly oily mouthfeel. A little of this goes a long way -- not for me.

330ml bottle, 2011 vintage. Rating #1500. Pours a medium copper, with a white head. Spicy, complex aroma, malt, wheat, thyme, yeast, wood, wine, pepper, autolytic notes. Off-dry, medium to full bodied, medium bitterness, balanced CO2. Spicy, fruity taste, malt, cloves, phenols, yeast, wood, marzipan. Very elegant, complex, subtly powerful. Impressive. (2012-12-31)

[5015-20121217] 330mL bottle. Mild fruity banana gum and toast yeast aroma. Hazy, brown orange body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet toasted grainy malt flavour. Medium body. Average, just not into this one. (6/3/6/3/11) 2.9

2011 vintage. It pours hazy amber with a thick off-white head. The nose is wood, spice, candied orange, caramel, panettone, maple syrup and a touch of jam. The taste is jam, berry, alcohol, oak, earth, spice, fresh orange juice, tangy tangerine, caramel and light astringency with a warming, dry citric finish. Full body, fine carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Flavoursome, but pretty boozy. My favourite out of Tsjeeses range.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2013 Interesting color: kind of red/orange/brown/yellow, nice white/reddish head. The taste is also very interesting: it is very very balanced. It doesnít have the amount of bitterness and carbonation you would expect in this style, which I really like. Combine this with the full bodied, yet not overpowering, sweetness, and you have a very great beer!

2012-12-17. Hazy dark amber body, small beige head. Aroma of sweet malt, modest alcohol, light wood tannin accents. Flavour is sweet, fairly alcoholic, mild bitterness in the finish, relatively simple. Average plus bodied palate. My notes are a bit light, which I guess reflects my impression, not as much going on as I would have hoped in such a big beer. 2011 Vintage Bottle shared by HogTownHarry
