3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - 330ml. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white foamy/creamy head. Fresh malty/hoppy aroma with citrusy, woody, and yeasty hints. Its well balanced malty/hoppy taste carries fruity, woody, and yeasty notes. Ends with a warming bittersweet finish. Enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
My Bottom Line:
Candied pale fruit, cake-y spices and doughy yeast whip up a pleasant but muddled dessert.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam tops the cloudy amber.
-Nothing stands out in the flavor profile; there isn’t a dominating character one can fall back on.
-Alcohol is well hidden.
-A light acidity peers through the doughy yeast.
-Don’t know if this one is already past its prime, but its flavor clarity is clearly not optimal.
2011 bottle; thanks Ian!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2014 Sampled @ Kerstbierfestival 2013 Essen. Very good beer. Nice, balanced, complex, sweet. Fruity as well, fresh. Great. Lesser version of the Bourbon-aged version.
Drank during Christmas dinner with Thierry, Cedric and Marijn. Nice beer with a compelling taste. Liked it better than the bourbon version this time :)

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
330ml Bottle - Copper with a slight haze. Fruitcake, caramel, port, brown sugar and spices in the aroma. Fruity, rich and vinous taste with malt, fruitcake, mince pies, caramel and a fruity, warming and bitter finish, perhaps from the port. One to sip slowly on a cold winter’s night.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
75cl bottle pours a hazy orange with some filmy white head. Nose is interesting, plenty of alcohol like a wine, floral, some tea, some brandy, some candy. Flavor is lightly sweet, light soap, some fortified wine, mild grape, mild brandy. Full bodied, oily finish. I thought this would be a train wreck, but it wasn’t back. 75cl is too large a format for this beer though.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Poured a slightly clear orange color with a wispy white head. Aroma was notes of sweet caramel, dark fruits, sweet malts, light spices and Belgian yeast notes and a smooth port note. Light, drinkable spices, a pleasant sugar note to it, with a touch of vanilla and port wood. Highly drinkable, especially with the 10%.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
33 cL bottle from Cervezorama 2.0 in Madrid, served in a stem glass. Pours hazy reddish brown with a small tan head that remains and leaves a small amount of lace. The nose has big brown sugar notes along with port, dark fruit, oak, sour fruit, flowers and a touch of spice. The flavour is quite sweet with port, brown sugar, caramel, flowers and a touch of oak. Spicy notes provide balance, but it is really all about the malts and port. The finish is long, malty, spicy and porty. On the palate, it is medium-full in body with a smooth, milky texture and average carbonation. Overall, a delicious port variant of an already nice brew. Smooth and complex, with an extra touch of port. The most complex of the three; very well done. 2013-05-03

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
