COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep to orange blond abbey triple winterbeer which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses's. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Thanks to Brian again for this. Very good. Highly spiced and more hoppy than you would expect. Serving: Bottle

Finishing the night off at the Shcraevanacker, Belgium. I love this stuff. Quality moment this was. A fine example of a tripel but also different to the run of the mill. Poured a cloudy murky orange with a thin off white head. Lovely aroma of spice and fruit. More spice, fruit and hops and the usual tripel stuff but there is something more with this. Perhaps just Struise-ness. Which I happen to think is absolute godly beer. Perfectly balanced and complex. Belter!

bottle. Pours hazy amber gold with off white head. Dry, spicy aroma. Scents of champagne, slight alcohol, floral, sprucy herbs, subtle hops. Incredibly soft, smooth, silky mouth feel. Alcohol masked, aside from the nice warming sensation this brew provides. Flavor is actually pretty mellow, some light wine-like fruitiness, deeper fruit notes of plum and fig, spices like clove and rosemary. As it warms it gets less dry and more sweet, featuring butterscotch and toffee. This really is excellent; beers like these are why I love beer.

Bottle from De Molen. Cloudy, murky, pale orange with a fine, lacy head. Spicy, fruity aroma. Tripel all the way. Sweet, rather boozy flavor with peaches, spice and a strong hop bitterness. Grapefruit also, with sweet honey and grains, but predominately bitter and hot. Smooth and full with a great softness. Great balance and complexity, with a prickly carbonation / hop / alcohol finish that is really fun. Wonderful fruit, spice, and hops. Fabulous!

This tasted fruity to me. It wasn’t a bad though. I’d say not on par for what I paid for it though.

A minor bottle bomb this began to surge the minute that I opened the cap. Fortunately none was lost. After trying this once I may have to find some more. Whether or not a distributor carries it in the area it should not be that hard to find assuming it is actually a seasonal that has wide release. I certainly hope so.

Aroma / Appearance - Once the foam settled I was left with a tiny beige cap above the cloudy caramel head. Much of that was due to an aggressive pour that included the yeast. Had I been a bit more careful I suspect it would have been far clearer. Fluid for 10% it doesn’t have the typically heaviness in the nose that many beers this high in ABV do. Instead it has a nice mix of cinnamon, caramel, and doughy aspects that make me want a breakfast roll from Cinnabon. The strong yeasty kick that pops up from time to time may also be due to the dregs.

Flavor / Palate - Christmas spices, chocolate mousse, and chewy cloves provide a very heady experience. I almost wanted to stick a spoon in this as it is so dense and loaded with flavor. Like a liquified caramel cheesecake the flavors are so vivid and rich that halfway through the bottle I was full. I wish more Struise beers would make their way to the area so I can continue to explore what one of the best brewers in the world has to offer.

Dark gold with a slight haze and a light white foam. Lightly sweet and spiced aroma. A nice mellow triple and deceptively strong.
