COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep to orange blond abbey triple winterbeer which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses's. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Ridiculously hazy orangish copper coloured body with some brown, caramel and orange highlights and a thinnish tan fast-dying head. Aroma of strong alcohol, yeast, coriander seed, curacao and of course, a touch of spices - allspice, anise and cloves. Full-bodied; Assertive alcohol, spices, brown sugar and a lot of malt tucked in. Super strong and showing a real long complexity and very potent flavour and aftertaste. Overall, a good, but perhaps too strong and unrefined flavour. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from West LakeView Liquors in Chicago, Illinois on 15-December-2008, sampled at home in Washington on 17-June-2010.

Bottle@home. Pours a hazy orange with nice foamy head. Aroma’s of yeast, fruit (apples, apricot) some lemon zest. Soft, velvety mouthfeel, mild carbonation with all kinds of soft fruit coming back ending a dry bitter hoppy finish which leaves the sweet sticky malty Struise aftertaste on the palate. Lovely triple.

Bottle. A - Cloudy golden apricot with an average sized foamy, bubbly, white head. Decent retention that reduces into a thin, foamy lace. S - Full of golden fruit and citrus aroma. Apple, peach, apricot, orange, and lemon all pretty strong and have a pretty juicy aroma. There is a very slight funk/pseudo-tart aspect to the fruitiness. Well spiced with some ginger, coriander, cinnamon, and orange rind amongst others. Slight yeast aroma is present, but not overly strong. Very full, juicy type of aroma. T - Similar to the nose with a lot of golden and citrus and some tropical fruit. Sweet candi sugar along with oranges/tangerines, apricots, peaches, and apple make a sweet fruit mix. Good amount of yeast and a lot of different spices (similar to nose). A very slight funk to it as well along with a touch of mustiness and hay. Some vanilla as well. Very juicy/fruity flavor. M - Medium body with a healthy amount of carbonation. Very smooth and creamy. D - A very drinkable beer with the alcohol very well hidden. Well balanced and even though it is well spiced and pretty sweet, it doesn’t overload the palate and I would gladly drink another right after I finish this one. Notes: Best before Dec. 2014. Another great beer from a great brewery. Sweet and spiced flavors mix around well along with the golden fruitiness. Wonderful beer that would drink well all year long. I would gladly drink this again and definitely recommend this.

Orange-amber coloured. Medium head that holds. Aroma a bit hard to smell, but a good sweet-fruity smell. Nice sweet taste of fruits and caramel. Spices and some kind of cookies. Very drinkeable. Low biterness.

Pours murky orange brownb with a creamy white head that lasts. Aroma of ripe fruit- apple, apricot, grape, honey, bready grain, floral, orange citrus, spice, very mild alcohol. Taste has lots of bready malt sweetness with some rind bitterness. Smooth beer, soft carbonation.

Medium offwhite head. Hazy yellow body with floaties. Intense herbal aniseed aroma with mealy buttery notes. Dry-sweetish aniseed cinnamon herbal taste with fruity citric peppery notes. Mild, hot mouthfeel is buttery and oily. Light body. A bit dense in the palate. Dry cinnamon and aniseed aftertaste with mealy herbal notes. Nice, but a bit closed and dense. (0.33l bottle, Olympen, Oslo.)

33cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Orange colour with a medium big white head that settled down fast in the glass. Not much of an aroma really. Some yeast and fruits. The flavour is dry and hoppy. More yeast. Spices and hops. A decent beer, but not the best from Struise by a long shot.
