Draft at Deep Ellum, then bottle at home. Just outstanding. Red orange with small persistent head. Aroma bready but balanced with citrus and spice. Big in the mouth but not too sweet, belgian yeast and malt opposed by light hop bitterness and a hint of sour.

gift from plovmand - thank’s a bunch!
cloudy orange, thick creamy head.
relatively mild, but also strong aroma. well blended, a subtle belgian dry fruity faint spicy sensation.
flavor is sweet malty, faint yellow fruity, faint flowery, strong caramel, lots of punch from the alc., sort of reminds me a little of a barley wine, but only the good stuff. the fruits and flowers blend well with the caramel, making an easy drink, even though the alc.% is through the roof. Very mild and well balanced for a tripel.

Tasted from a 333ml bottle TSJ No. 11 X-Mas Brew.
Pours a hazy golden brown. I think that chunky is a good descriptor for the liquid. The head is a persistent white froth. The nose is yeasty and doughy, but dominated by fruits. Apricot, peach, and even red apple are present. There is also a very slight tinge of red wine vinegar and alcohol. It is slightly sweet with the pitted fruits coming through. The alcohol burns nicely, and there are lightly bitter and sour notes on the finish. We have a full body with a sticky texture. The carbonation is average and the finish is long. Overall, this is a very nice beer. The complexity doesn’t really pull through on the palate, but I think that this beer will age well for quite a while.

UPDATED: JAN 26, 2010 Bottle shared by ChyldKing. Pours a cloudy mango colored gold with an off white head. gushed from the bottle. Lots of sediments floats throughout. A light nose with some bready malts and some light fruit notes. Palate is full, with a light tingle and a bit of a syrupy, sticky note. Flavors of doughy malts and some light grassy and dried fruit notes.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2010 [Bottle] Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Huge banana explodes out of the glass. Big breadiness, sweet caramel, honey, restrained alcohol and great fruitiness blend beautifully in the aroma. Taste is similar with maltiness coming out as it warms. Alcohol is pretty mild at first, especially for 10%. When it warms, it does obviously get hotter, but still fairly controlled. Nice medium mouthfeel, fairly dry. Finish isn’t overly long, but smooth. Outstanding beer--can’t wait to try the reserva.

Had this one over Thanksgiving dinner! Nice, lightly foggy golden color with a good white head. Nose is light fruits and malts with some nice spices. Similar in the mouth: light fruits with some nice, zesty spices. An amazing Triple, and good compliment for Thanksgiving dinner! I wish I had more for the rest of the holiday season...
