COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Barley malt, hops, cane sugar, yeast and spices.
Strong blond winterbeer with fluffy white head which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Serving: 330 ml. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a messy, muddy brown with a small head. Lots of yeasties and other things floating around in this brew. The nose has a spiced apple cake quality to it. The flavor is sweet up front with bread notes followed by stewed fruit, yeast, and dark caramel. Finishes semi-dry thanks to that high but well hidden ABV. Despite being rather ugly, it’s pretty tasty.

Thanks tom Tommy for the bottle. Nice golden,brown/orange pour. Looks thick and somewhat syrupy. Lots of thick whit head and the smell is bananas, alcohol and sugar. The taste is strong at first, lots of booze, mild carbonation, finishes with Carmel and a little bit of fruitiness. Complex and interesting.

Pours a hazy burnt orange - thin white head that dissipates quickly leaving slight lacing. Aroma is candied malt, fruity esters, slightly bready, some alcohol. Flavor is interesting - very sweet, boozy, dark fruit notes, dough, and a lot of spice working in and out from the background. Palate is somewhat thick and lingers for a while on the tongue - quite good. Well, no clue when I’ll see this one again, but I’d definitely give it a try if the opportunity presents itself...good, if far from great beer.

Pours a hazy dark orange with white head. Aroma is yeasty, doughy, some spices, very fruity. Taste is really sweet, ripe, dried fruits, yeast, peppery, a bit grassy. Full body and medium carbonation. Liked this one.

Bottle at home. Pours clear orange amber with a small off white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, spices, malt, ripe fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

pours hazy golden orange with a very nice off-white head, good retention and lacing. very fresh cereals, light toastiness, touch of caramel, rye, very spicy, yeasty, dark golden candi, tons of fruitiness - belgian candied malts and other fruits - oranges, dried and sweet apricots, mango and hint of tropical ones, herbs, hint of pine. sweet. average to soft carbonation, medium body - oily, almost sticky, bold grassy-spicy hops with a medium long citrusy and softly warm finish. although i’m not totally blown away, it is sweet, complex and good.

Pours cloudy amber with an offwhite head that sticks to the glass. Aromas of alcohol, candi sugar, malt and spices. Taste is medium-high sweetness with a bit of bittering hops. Flavors are spicy but muddled by all the alcohol that sticks out. Mouthfeel is fun, with carbonation maybe a touch too high (or maybe it is the alcohol and spices that sting?). Good beer, on par with most De Struise brews. Now, why is this called a saison? A winter seasonal maybe (kerstbier) but not a saison! This feels more like a fruity/spicy quadrupel to me. Either that or the "catchall" belgian strong ale style...

Smak och doft av humle, malt, belgisk jäst, karamell. En aning söt men med en lagom beska.
