Strong blond winterbeer with fluffy white head which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

2013 bottle. Gusher... cloudy red amber with a lot of floating sediments. Dried fruity aroma, vinous notes and red sour strawberries. Flavour has sweet dark sugar, figs and alcohol. All in all very well balanced. Finish has fresh cut wood and more sweet fruityness. Very good.

330ml bottle (2013). Massive gusher when opened. The amount that did remain in the glass was quite a dark caramel brown - clear with frothy off white head. aroma is rather sweet. caramel, molasses and yeast. taste wasn’t what i was expecting. really really sweet. a little spice. lasting sweet finish. i love the barrel aged versions but this was only "ok".

Bruin bier met schuim. Smaak is licht zoetzuur en bitter hoppig, fruitig, aarbei, kersen, banaan. Erg goed. Smaak blijft lang hangen.

Bottle from Mi Orge Mi Houblon, Arlon, Belgium! 2010 bottle! Pours copper colored with a fine white head. Aroma has fruits, spicy notes and rich malt notes. Taste of sweet spicy malts, dried fruits and some brown sugar. Finish is warming, very spicy with some christmas spices and dried fruits. Very delicious, even in early summer :-)

2012 bottle. Bit of a gusher upon opening. Almost a murky Amber colour. Nice rich full nose of almost pineapple marmalade. This carries over into the taste. Smooth mouthfeel with full flavour. Some subtle spices I can’t quite place. Well balanced. . I really like this. One of my favourite "golden"Belgian ales

Bottle of the 2012 donated to me from Harrisoni following our trip to Belgium. Murky orange to chestnut brown in the glass, slight off white big head which thins. Nose is musty, caramel, orange citrous, earthy, barley sugar boiled sweets,. Slight oxidised damp earthiness. Taste is blend of alcohol, orange citrous, caramel, orange marmalade, barley sugar sweets, pine and slight bitter hop, bit of oxidised dampness. Feels like it’s lost a bit of oomph but still decent.

Bottle in St. Louis with thanks to Jim. Excellent beer. Dark fruits and yeast. Rich body. Reminds me of a Rochefort.

It poured opaque honey colored with a huge head. The aroma was very bready. The flavor was slightly sweet but finished with a tangy, sweet finish, that was slightly mouthwatering.
