COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Barley malt, hops, cane sugar, yeast and spices.
Strong blond winterbeer with fluffy white head which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

330mL bottle, best by 09/10. Pours cloudy orange golden with a substantial ivory head. Complex aroma, with notes of citrus fruit (mainly orange), herbs, spice and and yeast. Nice sweet-tart flavor - yeast and wheat up front are soon joined fruity apricot flavor and herbal nuances. Long, wheaty finish with some spice. This was delicious and very drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2009 121808 - Hazy orange color shimmers with long-lasting, rich white head, lacing everywhere. Nose is fabulous: traditional tripel elements like apple, grass, pepper, and yeast are married to slight must, sweet malt, and a wonderful grape depth, so fruity and harmonious. Flavor adds a nice tart component to the yeast, apple, orange, alcohol, and that grape... just a delicious blend. The all star Struise palate sparkles on the tongue while the full body glides smoothly, finishing long in fruit, slight lactic, and alcohol. Ends with too much alcohol, but overall excellent. Unreal how Struise delivers beer after beer after beer. I do not even like tripels that much. 9410519 112509 - More malt than previous bottle, cloudier tangerine appearance, a little dirty. Still the bounty of fruit in the flavor, a little more alcohol than remembered. More yeast as well. Still really good, but the parts are more obvious now, and the yeast and malt unfortunately overwhelm more of the fruit elements. 949417

Pours a wonderfully hazy bronze-ish color with the lovely "bottle conditioned" appearance I come to expect in good beers. Smells like recently rotted fruit. Strange how that’s actually appealing in a beer. Taste includes some of that fruit, with the spices making an appearance as well. Absoutely great. I’m starting to really like de struise. If it weren’t for the alcohol, which is amazingly well hidden, I’d like to drink a few of these in succession. Very impressive, I would say.

Mini-gusher upon opening; just bubbled out the top a little bit. Great complex aroma of green apple skin and caramel sprinkled with spices. Super flavor, you get all of the herbal, spicy notes of the aroma and then some. Superb beer.

Another beautiful De Struise beer. Good lord, these guys are becoming another De Dolle for me. Which is bad considering I needn’t have another $5/bottle temptation, the broken condition my wallet is in. Tastes lively for sure and sugary, like crisp tart alcoholic apple cider and snicker doodle spice. Pumpkins? And some orangy citrus, though not in a hoppy way. Beautifl beer too with chalky chunky yellow amber gooiness.

Pours dark golden with a mostly receding off-white head. Aroma of honey, berries, lavender, sage, lemongrass, and white wine.Tastes of bubble gum, herbs, caramel, and perfume. Mouthfeel is full bodied with lively carbonation.

Deep golden blonde beer with fluffy white mousse. The nose is rich and fruity with a full bread and cake character, also some spices and hops. Taste is warming with a full mouthfeel. Lots of cereals, bread and stonefruits in the taste with some winterspice and a fine hoppy bitter in the finale.

bottle. Pours hazy amber gold with off white head. Dry, spicy aroma. Scents of champagne, slight alcohol, floral, sprucy herbs, subtle hops. Incredibly soft, smooth, silky mouth feel. Alcohol masked, aside from the nice warming sensation this brew provides. Flavor is actually pretty mellow, some light wine-like fruitiness, deeper fruit notes of plum and fig, spices like clove and rosemary. As it warms it gets less dry and more sweet, featuring butterscotch and toffee. This really is excellent; beers like these are why I love beer.

Finishing the night off at the Shcraevanacker, Belgium. I love this stuff. Quality moment this was. A fine example of a tripel but also different to the run of the mill. Poured a cloudy murky orange with a thin off white head. Lovely aroma of spice and fruit. More spice, fruit and hops and the usual tripel stuff but there is something more with this. Perhaps just Struise-ness. Which I happen to think is absolute godly beer. Perfectly balanced and complex. Belter!

Thanks to Brian again for this. Very good. Highly spiced and more hoppy than you would expect. Serving: Bottle
