Ingredients: Barley malt, hops, cane sugar, yeast and spices.
Strong blond winterbeer with fluffy white head which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Bottle into chalice. Pours a cloudy orange-gold, lighter towards the top, with loads of floaties, and a creamy bone-white cap that leaves substantial lacing. The floaties were disconcerting, but the beer otherwise looks fantastic. Nose is apricot and tropical fruit mixed with a rich, lightly doughy yeast note, spicy alcohol, bit of candy sugar shining through. Delicious. Taste is yeasty, bittersweet, rich tropical fruit and apricot, sweet candy sugar and some spicy alcohol. Honey, and maybe nutmeg? Dry at some points, deliciously rich in others. Finish is yeasty, a bit bittersweet, bit of alcohol on the exhale. Mouthfeel is a bit sticky, soft, fluffy carbonation. Drinkability is fantastic. When I finished this, I was left wondering why I hadn’t bought more than one. I actually realized I was drinking it so fast that if i didn’t get to reviewing, I’d run out of beer before I finished. An exemplary beer. Delicious.

muscadet, banana, plum, caramel and candy sugar. Very yeast dominant, and very different yeast esters, I feel like I get muscadet and plum from the yeast, and a candy sugar plus almondy like bready malt backbone, different and quite good.

2012 Murky orange amber, initially large, dense head shrinks quickly. Nose is honey, muscat, pear, floral. Flavor is same plus sherry, nutmeg, cinnamon, green raisin, unripe banana, light caramel. Near perfection in my book.

2012 vintage and a Melbourne winter's night. AU$14. Lovely orange amber colour with a large, loose head. Smells very Belgian Candi Sugar. Tart, funky sour apples, toasted spice, red wine barrel, sharp molasses. Very complex. The taste follows through, with a lot of Orval apple, orange peel, bitter hop, biscuit and spice. Sharp and sweet. A pleasant hint of alcohol warmth. A touch more viscous than similar Belgians of the style. A touch of bread and a drying, bitter-sweet apple/summer-grass finish. As expected, as good as they come. It would be the equivalent of Bosteels and Orval making a Brooklyn Local 1 and turning it up to 11, with heaps of spice and yeasty Belgian apple, yet perfectly balanced. Thoroughly enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2012 Bottle bought in Bierkoning, Amsterdam and consumed some time during 2013. Pours a dark brown with lots of sediment in the bottom. Turns dark amber up to the light. I love the appearance of this! Rich, sweet aroma with a similar very sweet taste. Complex! I drank this one very slowly and enjoyed every drop. Can’t wait to get my hands on another.

Bottle, bb 12-12-2012. Pours murky orange/ brown with a small yellowish head. Aroma: figs, raisins, nuts, nutmeg, cherries. Taste: raisins, grapes, figs, plums, wood, cherries, rum, apples, cane sugar. Medium body, smooth/silky, lively carbonation. Sweet and warming with a somewhat tart finish.

Deep gold with healthy head. Foam oozed from the bottle upon opening. Aroma/flavor is spicy, sweet grain, yummy yeast. Flavor has a surge of caramel that isn’t present in the aroma. Balanced, not boozy. Had a Pannepot next to it (2012, maybe not stored properly, no carbonation) and this had a much better flavor in my opinion. Body is medium, but huge carbonation brings the feel where it needs to be for drinkability.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dima’s. Thanks Stas and Vova. Cloudy amber-bronze with a creamy, bubbly head. Plum, raisins, then some wood and smoke in the nose, very smoky and sweet in the mouth, also a little fruity. Slightly flat, medium-bodied, long, smoky finish. Awesome.
