COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Ingredients: Barley malt, hops, cane sugar, yeast and spices.
Strong blond winterbeer with fluffy white head which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

On tap at Bad Apple Chicago. Almost clear orange with covering dusting of head, pretty dense lacing that slides back down for the most part. Dried fruits and a coating layer that reminds me of de dolle’s sweeter beers (without all that sweetness). Finish is lightly herbal with a drying effect from the alcohol. Light carbonation is at a really good level. There’s some basil here in the finish. Smells of toast, brown sugar, buttery sweetness, maybe some pepper, and the least hint of mint.

Normaal ben ik niet zo’n voorstaander van blonde kerstbieren omdat een blond bier meestal minder smaak heeft dan een donker, maar dit is echt een heel goed blond kerstbier

Bottle. Bottle rocket in fact, caught most of it in the large Duvel glass but Gijs meowed happily and began licking off the floor what had gone elsewhere. Deep orange with a creamy, compact off-white head. Sweet, spiced aroma with ginger, clove, orange and peach. The flavour is sweet with an almost syrup like texture. Some peach and orange again, caramel, with spicy yeast. Warming alcohol but not pronounced.

Appearance: poured with a small and moderately dense light tan head, the beer is a brown but almost amber color, has lots of small particles floating in it Aroma: red wine, sour, cherry, faint hints of bread, clean, caramel Taste: hints of sourness, bitterness, unique and very hard to describe, perhaps chocolate towards the finish but definitely not a ’chocolately’ beer, alcohol, caramel, sweet, reminds me of wine, Palate: very soft carbonation, has a moderate mouthfeel, bitter and alcohol aftertaste Overall: this is a 2009 bottle that I’m drinking in 2014 so it has some age on it, interesting beer for sure, don’t know how much it’s age has changed it, pretty good ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A 2013 bottle that began to creep out of the bottle. Amber with a large off-white head that fades but never gets close to disappearing. Intensely fruity and yeasty aroma with oranges, jammy apricots, peaches, raisins, dough, leather, ginger, mace, oloroso sherry. Creamy, quite carbonated. Sweet dried fruit and sherry with vibrant fresher fruit on top. Dries out only a little at the end, with spiced oranges coming to the fore. Warming, but no unintegrated booze. Excellent.
