Strong blond winterbeer with fluffy white head which has been lagered for 8 months on different stonefruits. Tsjeeses was born out of a 5 year brew experience regarding x-mas beer without being capable of finding a suitable name up to now. With the name came a face, a caricature actually, that was drawn on the day Urbain, our brew master and master brewer, drank too many Tsjeeses’s. Every time he drinks one, he says "Tsjeeses, what a beer". Therefore the name is more an expression of stupefaction than a curse. We have had already many discussions around the pronounciation of "Tsjeeses". Very close would be that you say "cheeses" or cheese in plural.

Pours a deep hazy orange with slight amber hues, thick white head, lots of lacing, lots of yeast floaties, despite efforts to minimize with long storage to settle and only 2/3 pour, so I just poured the rest in. Aroma of yeast, bread, very highly spiced, clove, and a decent alcohol smell. Flavor matches well and makes for a nice warming, but refreshing brew. Swirling the glass made for nice carbonation release the entire drink long, released lots of aromas. Quite nice.

June 2016 - Bottle share in Watford as ’Struise Tsjeeses’, 10%, 2013 vintage. Many thanks to Fergus. Dark murky hazy orange-brown, still, foamy dense creamy head, light lacing. Aroma is spicy, bready, tea, twiggy. Body is light, tingly carbonation, smooth. Taste is quite sweet, Candi sugar, some sherry, spicy finish, a little twiggy, some booze showing up. OK but a bit harsh and boozy. (3.3)

Cloudy amber to orange liquid, moderate quickly diminishing head. Very fruity nose. Lemon, melon, tropical fruit, candy, Belgian yeast. Complex. Medium to full body. Oily to creamy. Mighty still refreshing taste. Candy, lollipop, melon, spicy yeast, lemony hop. Light to medium bitterness balancing the whole celebration. Very distinct, very complex, a top achievement.

2015 bottle @Pułapka Gdańsk. Smells of dried fruit - a lot of raisins and dates... some plum, caramel, spices and some red wine notes. Pours hazy dark amber with off white head. Taste is dried fruit sweetness, caramel in the beginning and goes through belgian yeast and spices to a dry bread style finish. Soft carbonation, medium full. Overall I loved this beer, probably one of my Belgian favorites. Got one bottle to see how it ages. Amazing beer, highly recommended.

Uit de fles geschonken. Amberkleurig bier. Bekende moutige geur van Belgisch bier met wat tonen van gist. Smaak is moutig, kruidig, caramel. Een prima verwarmend bier, maar in vergelijking met andere Struise bieren vind ik deze iets minder, maar zeker niet slechts.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2016 Bottle shared in swap by ShivanDragon. Many thanks! 2015 vintage. Surprisingly easy drinking, with high carbonation. Classic complex Belgian. Spicy, caramel, soft subtle grassy hoppiness. Alcohol dangerously well hidden. Classic.

Brassin 2015.

Maybe not too interesting, but very nice Belgian strong. Malt cocktail with some bready aspect, dried fruits, overripe fruits, candy sugar, some floral earthy hops.. Moderate sweetness with light bitterness. Lovely

Pullo @ Saveur-Biere. Kaatuu tulppaaniin mahonginruskeana, noin kahden sormen paksuisella vaahdolla. Tuoksussa on vahvana makeampaa sitrusta ja appelsiininkuorta, mukana on myös kuivattua hedelmää ja mausteisuutta. Mallaspohjassa on hieman makeaa karamellisuutta. Maku on hyvin mausteinen ja appelsiininkuorinen, makean hedelmäisen mausteinen mallaspohja on tukemassa. Suutuntuma on melko täyteläinen, hieman agressiivinen ja alkoholi tuntuu hieman. Upean tuoksuinen, muttei ihan yhtä hyvän makuinen vahva belgi. Mausteisuus ja hedelmänkuoret pääosassa.
