On tap at CBC2012. Beer in the glass brownish, huge head. Mild-hoppy aroma. Starts quite sweet-malty, more and more wheaty. Reminds me of some sweets. Finish dry, less sweet, modest sourish. Not my favourite Struise beer.

From tap @Borefts 2012. Amber body. Fingerthick white head. Yeasty and sweeitsh soft wheat malt aroma. Sweet malt flavor, bordering on sticky. Perfumey and bubbelgummy yeast tones. Juicy. Full. Fruitiness in the finish.

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm) Hazy amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, woody nose with notes of dried fruit, treacle toffee, caramel, esters, a touch of dill and rich bourbon barrel aromas. Fruity, malty taste with oak wood, dried fruit, fruit-cake, banana, dried pineapple and woody bourbon flavours in a sweet, vinous finish. Almost full body, quite sweet. Not really balanced, with the sweet bourbon barrel character almost becoming a bit over-whelming. But if you can live with that, it’s actually quite nice.

Sehr süßer, hell würziger Beginn. Bourbonnoten, zu süß, wenig Hopfen. Unausgeglichen, vor allem für Struise! 12/8/5/7//6

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 Tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Day Two. Pourshazy amber with a fine, white foam head. Big sugary wheat nose. Hugely sweet flavor, tons of honey, caramel, Belgian sugars, some hard alcohol. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Super sweet finish with honey and sugary dough. I don’t mind sweetness in my beer, but this is kind of silly. It’s a big boy, at any rate. (3.1)

Tap at Borefts 2012, Bodegraven. Pours hazy, rich gold with a small, white cream head. Fruity nose, some apple and honey. Stupidly sweet flavor with lots of sugary apples, caramel and honey. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sticky, syrupy sweet finish with sugar, apples...not much else. The beer is one-dimensional, it’s cloying. No. Not really that terrific. (2.9)
