2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Thick and dark pink appearance with bits of fruity residue. It’s tart and slightly acidic. Sour raspberry comes through. Drying finish.

A hazy dark pink. Very pretty head. The nose is really hard to pinpoint only because I get vinegar and very moldy rotten fruit. Juicy up front with grapefruit tartness then that faded into a mold and musty malty funk.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Low-alcohol sour aged on burgundy barrels with red berries macerated in it (so technically a fruit beer as well). Quickly dissipating, off-pinkish head, deep ruby red colour with brownish hue. Complex, tart aroma of sour cherries, ’cuberdons’, blackcurrant, brambleberries, medium sweet sherry, some tannins; fruit sour onset, red berries, tart with a light woody finish, dry sourish finish. Interesting sour ale.

Keg at Het Oude Schooltje, during the 3rd Zombier Anniversary, 18/10/14.
Murked up raspberry smoothie, arse end of the keg!
Nose is tarte red fruits, tangy berries, rhubarb, straw, soured berry compote.
Taste comprises more rhubarb, raspberry yoghurt, straw, tangy red berries, woody must.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a tarte berry finish and just a touch of acidity.
Ok sour, fairly easy drinking.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft... Zwanze Day 2014… Pours Washington Redskins-burgundy with a small, fizzy, fleeting white head. The aroma is both dusty and reminiscent of raw beef, accompanied by generic berry-like fruitiness. Full-bodied with lazy carbonation. Tart and fruity, but also loaded with buttery diacetyl in both the flavor and lengthy finish. I usually don’t mind the compound in small quantities in certain styles of beer, but it’s inappropriate and annoying here. Everything else about the beer is enjoyable.

Draft at GBD, drunk through multiple innings of that ridiculous 18 inning Nationals/Giants game. Poured a ruby red color with a small pink head. Aroma was tart berries, fresh berry notes. Flavor was slightly tart berry notes, sweet berries. Very berry. Light and easy to drink, perhaps a bit bitter.

1.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2014 Nose light wine grape character. Taste is a bit funky cheese with a strong diacetyl note that makes a generally unpleasant experience worse.

Bottled. Pours hazy deep golden with a small off-white head. Aroma of red fruits, raspberry, wood and funk. Slightly sweet flavour that ends up dry and tart. Medium bodied, watery to oily texture and soft carbonation. A very nice Sour.
