Amber pour with medium off white head and a bit of lacing. Nose is sweet and fruity. Carmel malts and dark fruit with a hint of booze. Nice full body and texture. A little too sweet overall though.

Tap @ Hair of the Dog’s ’Day of De Struise’... Poured deep red with a thin, off-white head. There was definite rye here, but didn’t play like it normally does in other rye beers. Instead it seemed to work nicely with the yeast and created a ton of fruit, dark fruit flavors and esters. Mostly had raisins and cherries. Quite nice. Good mouthfeel, full flavored, sticky on the palate. This was solid.

Tap at CBC, May 2012. It pours hazy deep amber, with a medium off-white head. The nose is varnish, sweet dark fruit (currant, raisin etc), spice and toffee. The taste is varnish, leather, orange, tinned nectarine, raisin, currant, touch of spice and alcohol warmth. Full body, moderate carbonation and sticky mouth-feel. Too sweet.

On tap at CBC. Pours hazy amber with a creamy dense off white head. The aroma is fruit, yeast, hops and ripe berries. Sweet malty flavour, yeast, berries and fruit. Nice balance.

[ As my rating # 2100 of beers from Belgium on ratebeer ]. Unclear medium amber orange colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, riped fruit, dried fruit. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a average to long duration, candy sweet, riped fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120512]

Draft @ CBC 2012. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-whitehead. Has a fruity malty spicy aroma with toffee hints. Fruity malty spicy yeasty caramel flavor with hoppy hints. Has a fruity malty spicy toffee and caramel finish.

tap at cbc - pours a deep orange with a massive beige-yellow head. Aroma of peach, malt, orange peel and orange, caramel. Full body and sweet the whole way through. Taste of peach and malt.

Tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2012. Hazy/Unclear dark amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, hops, citrus and yeast. Flavour is malt, fruit, hops, citrus, yeast, sweet, spices and medium bitter.

Draft. An amber beer with an orangey head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, rye, alcohol, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

CBC. Hazy reddish brown with a beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dried fruit and yeasty. Flavor is quite sweet and moderate bitter. Sweet finish with warming alcohol. 110512
