Commercial Description:
The Noordhoek Ostrich Farm and Resort has been offering visitors an oasis of silence, tranquility and green pasture since 1997. In 2001 we began offering our guests fresh, homemade ale, "Struise Witte" was born. The dutch word for "ostriches" is "struisvogels" or "Struise", but the same word can also mean "sturdy" or "robust". This "Robust White" is a living wheat beer of high fermentation, unfiltered and unpasteurized. Brewed with natural ingredients, bottle conditioned in 33 cl bottles.

Clear golden pour with a good size white head. Citrus and some fruits. Lots of carbonation with hints of citrus and yeast. Thin mouth feel with a dry finish.

bottle. Pours hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma of yeast, wheat and some spices and floral notes. Flavor is wheat, coriander, and orange, with some herbal, earthy notes. Finishes dry. Good wit, but not as groundbreaking as the other Struise beers I’ve tried.

Bottle from theisti. Pours a very hazy straw color with a thick foamy head with frothy lacing. Nose is fresh lemons and a little yeast. Taste is a very crisp lemon twang mixed with yeast and carbonation. Drying finish. This beer really reminds me of a weak lambic/gauze beer in terms of mouthfeel. Seems a bit over carbonated for a Wit...but I really enjoyed this beer. Thanks Tim.

Pours hazy gold into a Tumbler. Yeast and citrus aromas. Light and refreshing, but not a significant amount of flavor.

Bottle: Pours a cloudy honey color with a creamy white head. Yeasty citrusy aroma, bright and lemony. Nicely carbonated feel. Somewhat yeasty flavor, with a damp basement subtlety, followed by a crisp lemon character. Nice sharp character, making it extremely refreshingand drinkable. A very citrusy and refreshing Witbier.

Pours a hazy, light golden blonde body with intense microstream carbonation. A large, dense, foamy white head shows excellent retention. Random flares of patchwork lacing decorate the glass well. The aroma shows light sweet and sour citrus with a very light spice profile. Some syrupy peach and apricot scents emerge as it warms up. The flavor is light and crisp, with lemon chiffon and apricot providing the fruit content. Bready yeast softens things a bit, while very faint spices add a bit of depth. Still, something seems slightly off here, and I can’t quite put my finger on it. Medium bodied and smooth, finishing slightly dry. Nice, refreshing brew, but nothing to get too excited about.
