COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Noordhoek Ostrich Farm and Resort has been offering visitors an oasis of silence, tranquility and green pasture since 1997. In 2001 we began offering our guests fresh, homemade ale, "Struise Witte" was born. The dutch word for "ostriches" is "struisvogels" or "Struise", but the same word can also mean "sturdy" or "robust". This "Robust White" is a living wheat beer of high fermentation, unfiltered and unpasteurized. Brewed with natural ingredients, bottle conditioned in 33 cl bottles.

Bottle, 33cl - Hazy orange beer with a moderate large head. Aroma is fruity with notes of apricots, yeast, wheat and peppars. Flavor is malty with notes of ripe fruit, wheat and some yeast. Not too bad.

330 ml bottle. From Woesten/Vleteren, Belgium.
Clear pale yellow colour with small to average creamy white head. Lively. Berries, citrus, yeast, wheat, spices and some sweetness in aroma. Wheat, malt and some citric and sour notes in flavour. Quite carbonated. Not very typical Witbier. A bit like Kristallklar Witbier...

Bottled. BB april 09. Slightly hazy golden color, medium frothy off-white head. Aroma is dusty, some wheat, bit citrus, spicy, clove, grainy cereal, slight nutty. Spicy, bit sourish. It might be aged notes I get, but when I see the other ratings it might actually be the supposed flavor.

Hopper (751) - The Alamo, Texas, USA - JUN 16, 2010
A cloudy golden beer with a small white head. The aroma is real citrusy and is actually pretty good. The taste is like lemon juice, pepper, and malty with the finish being wheaty. The aftertaste is not pleasant.

Bottle at home. Hazy light yellow pour, thin creamy white head. Aroma of wild yeast, some distant fruits, Belgian hops and some citrus. Flavor is mild, slightly bitter, somewhat fruity sweet and nicely balanced. A bit strange brew. Creamy texture and above average carbonation.

Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a nice white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, lemons and grapefruits, and spices. Flavors of citrus, lemons, vanilla, grains, hops and malts, and spices. Good carbonation, nice bitter dry finish. Very nice ballance of flavors, very refreshing. Very nice white brew.

Parket (521) - Bruges, BELGIUM - JUN 6, 2010
bottle, yellow colour with stable and foamy white head. Smell: coriander, sourness. Taste: the typical witbier stuff (coriander, citrus) combined with sourness. Much refreshing beer that gets better the more you try it! Very nice brew again from the struise brouwers.

Bottle, 33 cl. Hazy light pale blond beer, small foamy head, lacing ok. Smell of hops, malts and some spices (no coriander). Taste is grainy and malty with a nice hoppy aftertaste. Full mouthtaste, but lacks a bit strength in taste and depth in pallet overall to compete with the better ones of this style.
