Draft @ ’t Schooltje – thx! for the ride tderoeck! First aged on Sherry barrels & then on Lagavulin – which is absolutely incredible whisky. Pours black with a huge creamy mocha ice-cream head, nice. Nose is very creamy, mocha ice-cream, light roast, nice wood / oak, light peat. Taste & body is super creamy, almost milkshake / liquid ice-cream, very creamy, caramel, thick mocha, chocolate, syrupy, touch molasses, brown sugar, sweet coffee, warming in the finish, almost touch alcohol with light charcoal & perfectly balanced dose of peat – which is a rare thing – great touch. Utterly incredible – I asked for seconds. Best Black Albert variation so far.

Draft at The Old School. Pours almost black with a beige head. Aroma is massive roasty, dark chocolate, malt, whiskey, ripe fruit, licorice and caramel. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Sample at ’het Schooltje’ Oostvleteren. I always imagine that the quality of the beer deteriorates a little because it’s kept for a longer time in the ’tap trailer’. Though amazing idea!
Appearance: pitch black beer, little head.
Nose: very sweet, red fruits, little smoked.
Taste: very sweet, little chocolate, fruity, alcoholic. Very nice beer.

Mid black with a dirty tan head - this looks the bollocks!
Nose is big and bold, chocolate, booze, woody notes, brown sugars, snifter of whisky.
Taste comprises rich chocolate, decent compliment of booze, light coffee, dark fruity twang, brown sugars.
Full bodied, fine carbonation lending towards a boozey sweet finish.
This is what Struise do oh so very well! An excellent imperial stout, great balance, good depth and the 13% ABV is expertly integrated.

On tap @SWBF12. Aroma of chocolate, red berries and wood notes Taste with lots of chocolate, sweetness and matching bitterness. More balanced than the regular Albert.

Had on draft at the Struise schoolhouse. The pour is dark and black with a thick brown head. The nose is vanilla, banana, wood, chocolate, light smoke and big booze. The taste is very sweet with a wonderful bitterness still in tact. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, the body is huge and the finish is very long. I have to say that I like the regular version a bit more, the flavor has changed to much with the wood. None the less it’s very good.

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and aromas of Islay whisky. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, black coffee, cacao, hints of oak wood and Islay whisky. Fairly dry finish with a roasty bitterness and a warming touch of alcohol. Full body, rounded mouthfeel. Lovely beer.

Smell: a bit of peat, chocolate, coffee, some sweet, slightly cherry
Taste: start is malts, some choclate and deffinitly the sherry sweetness, bit of cocktil cherrys, and when warmed slight notes of fine peated whiskey, super easy to drink, amazing !

Solid dark brown head that lasts til the glas is empty.
Black color. Fine complex chocolate aroma with some red berries. Big chocolate taste and much sweetness that balance a equally big bitterness. Big body. A more balanced than the normal Black Albert.
