Had on draft at the Struise schoolhouse. The pour is dark and black with a thick brown head. The nose is vanilla, banana, wood, chocolate, light smoke and big booze. The taste is very sweet with a wonderful bitterness still in tact. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth, the body is huge and the finish is very long. I have to say that I like the regular version a bit more, the flavor has changed to much with the wood. None the less it’s very good.

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm) Black colour with dense, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with coffee, dark chocolate and aromas of Islay whisky. Malty, roasted taste with notes of chocolate, black coffee, cacao, hints of oak wood and Islay whisky. Fairly dry finish with a roasty bitterness and a warming touch of alcohol. Full body, rounded mouthfeel. Lovely beer.

TEJA (1360) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2013
Draught at Monks Porterhouse, Stockholm. Solid dark brown head that lasts til the glas is empty. Black color. Fine complex chocolate aroma with some red berries. Big chocolate taste and much sweetness that balance a equally big bitterness. Big body. A more balanced than the normal Black Albert.

draft @ schooltje dont get much ’aged’ factor in this. i get some minor diffrences between this and the base-)beer, but i dont have a waaw-feeling to this one... maybe a little more subtile?

Draft @ ‘t Schooltje, merci Carlo.

Tap (SBWF2012)
Nice smoky aroma, quite mellow. Slightly sour, but a good roast. A dry bitter bite, some burnt bit too. Not as good as the base beer (this so often happens - stop dicking with it!). Sour dark fruit kernels. Finish is nice and burnt, quite soft and sweet, and nice smokey bite too. Sticks to the tongue, but I like it that way. Good, but no Black Albert.
