Really dark for a tripel. Nice foam. Nose is cereals, caramel, roasty notes and yeast. Taste is similar. Medium soft body. Not my thing!

330mL bottle, pours a murky amber-tinged brown with a large beige head. Aroma brings out lots of Belgian yeast, light caramel, and some dark fruitiness. Flavour is rich on the caramel, with non-cloyingly sweet caramel, candied sugar, Belgian yeast, and a little heat – though the ABV is surprisingly well-concealed for a 10% beer. This is quite a bit more complex than the average rating suggests. Well-contained sweeteness, complex with the caramel notes, and just enough heat to pack a punch. Wonderful stuff.

Wonderful. The mixing comes together in a way that would normally be gimmicky if anyone but Struise was involved. Pours clear mahogany with good head and lacing. Light booze and coriander, the latter which is somewhat eclipsed by rye. Sweet and sour finish. Tap at Churchkey.
