3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours deep amber with a small, lacing and off-white head. Aroma of wood, red fruits, caramel and notes of bourbon and grapes. Slightly sweet flavor that ends up dry and tart. Medium bodied. watery to oily text. and with soft carbonation. A nice sour.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Pazzeria, Milan; vintage 2009, 4 years old; bb 30-11-2017
The bottle is a slow gusher; it pours a dark and probably unclear brown color with frothy fizzy head, short retention. The aroma is vinous, with wood, a bit fruity, with nice notes of Aceto Balsamico. Luckily it’s not too dry not too sour; malt and caramel flavor that leave some room for a light uninvited liquorice note; correct bitterness; the flavor too is a bit vinous, woody, with a lightly astringent final.
A good beer with no doubt, but not the excellence; it lacks of depth.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Rating #3300. Bottle 50cl, a dark beer with huge off white head, got gushing. Nose is sour like, with typical cherry / wood sour profile. Aroma is sour like with an acid dominant, lot of red fruits suck as red currant, sweet, watery, cherry notes, light chocolate notes. Wood and light burnt caramel at the finish, a bit too sweet, interesting but less complex as expected.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to Fergus at this Watford Tasting. It pours darkest brown with a small yellow-white head. The nose is vinous, red grape, toast, light roast, earth, mild acidity, dark fruits and pleasant tartness. The taste is crisp, tart, tangy, jam, vinous, cherry cola, dark fruit, sherbet, wood, some alcohol and tart green apple. Medium body and fine carbonation. Very nice tart-sweet balanced. Rather tasty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
My Bottom Line:
This earthy Flemish Red is laced in vanilla, red wine and chocolate before a vinous, tart finish cleans up each sip.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam decorates the dark mahogany.
-The wooden notes also possess a peppery edge.
-Mouthfeel is quite effervescent.
-The tartness and vinosity are a bit more important than Rodenbach Grand Cru’s, to give you an idea.
-This brew is quite complex.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Nose is very complex. Green apple, sour, a little cheese, undercut with oak, a hint of coffee, caramel and vanilla tones from the bourbon. Taste is initially sour with a little cherry and cola quickly leading to green apples, vinious, a little red wine, red currents, oak, a little leather, with a dry woody finish with lashings of red current. Mouthfeel is acceptable.
The use of the bourbon barrel adds an exciting dimension and depth, an excellent beer.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Une nez très fruité et acide avec des courants chocolatés. En bouche, ça se dirige tout droit vers un gâteau forêt noire avec la cerise très dominante, le chocolat noir et du bois sec en fin de bouche.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from CANBIF 2013. Had sat on the counter overnight but still ended up as a giant gusher...pours a hazy and dark brown with an initially huge dark beige head that settles down to a nice film. A nice sour / bruin aroma with some fruit, vinous, tart, some metallic notes (that still linger in the background a bit even after 30+ minutes opening up), some vanilla and cherries, oak; moderate+ carbonation, moderate body, nice tartness, cherry, finish has a hint of medicine as things dry out. Tasty.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Deep amber color, good creamy beige head. Woody, fruity, "smokey" aroma. Full-bodied. Alcoholic, fruity, tart, vinegardish flavor. Very interesting, Rodenbachish. Tnx Urbain.
