Tap @ ZBF 2013.
Pours nice clear redish black with a nice, creamy, beige head. Aroma has roasted malts, chocolate, light coffee, some astringency. Low carbonation, rather creamy mouthfeel. Flavour is sweet, lots of cocoa, mild citric sourness and lactic sharpness. Rather sweet finish. A very weird beer.

almost no head that also disappears immediately. dark coffee/coke coloured not transparent. anise, liquorice and vanilla aroma. full complex flavour that reminds of a stout followed by a surprising sourness, notes of whisky, complex and long aftertaste. it bores a bit after one glass, curious to see what happens after some aging. 50cl bottle / notes from backlog

50 cl bottle. Late night bottle share on 4/27/2013 thanks to Adam on this one. Nose is tart sour dark fruits ( plums and raisin). The flavor starts sweet but then goes into funky. Mild pucker from lots of fruit notes. Good amount of funky old wood tones. The barrel aging for this old of a brew for sure adds good sourness. Medium body with very low carbonation. Has a kind of sticky texture. A very nice change of pace after an evening of Barrel aged imperial stouts. This will not shatter your mind with complexity but still decent.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tasted from the bottle, 28/04/3013.
Pours dark brownish, with a healthy head.
Aroma is lovely, moderately sour, with hints of tart berries, pleasantly vinegary, with a touch of vanilla and dark and roasted malts.
Taste has just all that one could expect from a perfect oud bruine beer, and even more - delicate wine notes, grape skin, tart berries again, finishing with a slight roasty aftertaste.
