Bottle, 75cl, at RBNG-14 Grand Tasting. A whiteish golden beer topped by a dense, off-white head. The aroma has a nice citrusy sourness, with citrus, some maltyness and a touch of dried apricots. Farmhouse notes. The flavor has a nice sourness and fruityness, with some farmyard hints. Some pale malts in the back. Rather berry-ish. Full to medium body with a pleasant carbonation. Lasting finish. An easy drinkable and tasteful one, but I won’t go far to have it again. 140215

Bottle 750ml @ RGNG-14
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, brett, oak, vanilla and sourness. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long funky brett and oak finish. Body is light to medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Light hiss of the cork, thanks to the awesome belgian who gave me this bottle. Crystal clear pour, insanely gorgeous golden. no head at all. Nose is very light with apple cider, cloves, frosted flakes. The taste is way better than the nose. Very light funk, leathery, musty with some horse-tail and honey and maybe ginger root. Actually, quite horsey and oaky must.

Gold pour, white head. What a weird beer. Funky flavors and smells. Dank basement, wet earth, stone fruit, apples, some oak...not much actual whiskey flavors though.

75cl bottle courtesy of 77ships, thanks Eugene. It pours with a clear gold body that supports a wispy white head of foam. The aroma offers up sugary sweet apricot and peach as well as some open damp meadow, honey and tartness that has a lemon edge to it. Behind those notes murmurs sort of a funky yeasty lime citrus sensation. The taste has peach, pear and apricot to go along with sweet honey as well as smoothed over tartness and mild funky yeastiness. Like the nose these notes are nuanced by an earthy lime like sensation. I really didn’t get much in the way of barrel notes. Cool brew, thanks.

Tasting at Bruce’s Pad. Thanks to Paul for this one. Lightly hazy gold beer with good size yellow white head. Palate is light and and slightly crisp. Little dry seltzer. Touches of cream and vanilla. Super light bourbon and citrus. Comes together well for a light dry finish. Interestingly light BA beer.

Bottle, shared at Bruce’s. It pours pale golden with a small white head. The nose is wood, damp leaf, lemon, vanilla, coconut, light acidity and floral notes. The taste is smooth, lightly tart, hay, floral, touch of cabbage, damp leaf, light toast, white grape, appletiser and a bit of acidity with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation, Quite mellow and lacking punch for a De Struise beer. Alright.

Bottle cheers to Paul. Clear blonde with a small white cap on top. Lighter than I was expecting for BA. Nose has plenty of lemon and hay, big citrus and sweet vanilla undertones. Quite light in sourness with good balance and moderate fruity sweetness. Taste has plenty of oaky vanilla notes, lemon tang, zest, light spice on the back end. A little grainy but superb balance. Loads of citrus in this. Sourness never overwhelms but never really gets in your face either. A very solid drop

Bottle shared at my 5K tasting at Bruce’s pad, thanks to Paolo for this one, 13/11/13. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a moderate off white covering that thins to a swirl. Nose is straw, dank wood, lemon rind, very subtle lick of bourbon. Taste comprises lemon dipped straw, earthy, tarte citric fruits, sour dough bread, bitter orange, fain bourbon tones. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, crisp finale. Ok stuff, very drinkable but not as much depth as I was expecting.
