DrBayern (977), Morehead City, North Carolina, USA Jul 18, 2008 33 cl. bottle on 7/18/2008.
Aroma - Mild funkiness, yeasty, light stone fruits, citrus.
Appearance - Clear gold, loosely structured white head that settles quickly, spotty lace.
Flavor - Tart, with hints of fruity sweetness in the background. Not overly sour, but with the right amount of tanginess to be refreshing. <P> Palate - Fairly light body, and medium carbonation, squeaky clean mouthfeel, and nicely dry finish.
Good balance and drinkability, a great summer beer.
ScoWRee (223), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours a golden orange color with a fizziy white head that quickly disapates. Aroma is sour hint of like viniger, apples maybe grapes. Taste is very carbonated and sour. Alomst like an apple cyder. Intresting. Not something I would get again. 502Flavors (284), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 9, 2008 355 ml. bottle into sniffer. I am not one for light colored beers but this ones looks great - crystal clear light honey golden color with a light pinkish/tangerine hue to it. Very subtly unique color. Descent to minimal sized white head that fades pretty quickly to just a ring on the surface - no lace. The aroma is subtle but very delicatley complex, with yeasty funkyness, some white grapes, some oak and cherries, sour apples, champagne, and more. This is the most drinkable and balanced sour I have had by far - very light and subtle character reminiscent of white wine, champagne, light sweet hops, complex citrus notes (both sweet and sour), and oak - somewhat reminiscent of a light balanced geuze. Some cereal yeastiness late in the finish. I am also not one for carbonated beers, but this one is just perfectly appropriate and fitting with the flavor - light fervent carbonation sizzling on the tongue with a dry tart finish. Overall, this thing is simple, but has some serious complexities to dig for; very clean and refreshing sour/tart flavor that is in no way vinegary like a couple sours I have had. Adenila (690), Denmark Oct 6, 2008 Tasted shortly after Cantillon Kriek which was so sour that my tastebuddy had to give up on it. Clear golden with a rich white head. Aroma of citrus tart berries and barnyard. Flavor is medium acidic and seem like a good beer to serve for a sour beginner. Again with lots of citrus and some wet horse. Hophead22 (265), Redlands, California, USA Oct 5, 2008 11.2oz bottle. Poured medium golden. Slightly dry aroma, A little sourness, but finished a bit thin. OK beer. mkobes (2039), somewhere, New Jersey, USA Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Cloudy golden in color with a fluffy white head. Lemony tart malty aroma. Apple and pear notes. Sour apple lemony flavor. Yeasty citrusy notes. Medium bodied. Tart. Dry finish. Nice beer.
