bottle. Clear golden yellow, mid-sized head. Malty and hoppy, a bit thin, not overwhelmingly full-flavoured. There is a fruity hint present, slightly sourish. Has its own character.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma is loaded with fresh noble hops as well as sweet, base malt. Lemon and caramel notes. Clear straw with bubbly white cover. Pleasant hops flavour and bitterness that are well balanced, but nothing extraordinary. A bit too bitter for the pleasant but subtle malt flavour--even some ethanol notes. Light to medium body, moderate carbonation, lasting nutty bitter finish.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Golden colored with lively carbonation. Medium sized white head. Sweet and slightly buttery aroma with softly hopped note. Medium bodied. Flavor is somehow metallic with dry hops, mild butter and fruits also here. Dry butter lasts in aftertaste.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle purchased on the train from Bamberg to Munich. That novelty done with, beer was entirely ordinary. Flat and thin flavour, mild hops, and not a particularly pleasant finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bitter lager. Best room temperature in draught form. This is what Pils should be. Strongly recommended for those looking for a southern German brew. Crisp and refreshing.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
330ml bottle at Cafe Nescafé on the Calwer passage in Stuttgart. Bright yellow. Creamy foam. Lack of aroma, perhaps a slight touch of hops. Bitter palate and finish. Unusual dose of bitterness for this kind of beer. More than an average light lager (21.04.2006).
