chris_o (4409), London, Greater London, England May 25, 2007 From the barrel at Reading Beer Festival, April 2006. Very pale colour indeed - almost "Diamond White" white. However, the rather anaemic appearance gives way to a very tasty Perry indeed. Lots of sharp, tart fruit. But there’s also a good tannic grip that Perry sometimes struggles to display, making for a firm but juicy overall impression. Manages to marry traditional elements and drinkability very nicely.
haddonsman (1192), Derby, Derbyshire, England Aug 15, 2006 Cask (gravity), Reading BF 2006. The outstanding perry of the fest for me, in fact one of the best perrys I’ve had all summer. Sample-yellow, perfumed pear to the nose, smoothness with an undertow of sandpaper, smooth pears all the way. Accomplished stuff. Mungo (2474), Southampton, Hampshire, England May 8, 2006 Gravity cask @ Reading Beer Festival 2006. The appearance was not the nicest I’ve seen for perry but conforms to the archetypal cloudy urine sample look. Some alcohol/solvent in the nose but not unpleasant. Juicy pear aromas. Really smooth flavours, sweet with just a little tartness. Very well balanced, rounded and incredibly drinkable. harrisoni (5382), Ashford, Kent, England May 1, 2006 Bag in the box at Reading BF 06. Very silver white gold in colour. Farty perry aorma. Flavour in mouth is excellent. Bit of rubber/chenical but not in a bad way. Good juicy perry, bit sweet and then sour and dry. We all liked this I seem to remember kook (2035), Perth, Western Australia, Australia May 1, 2006 Cask @ Reading 06: Very pale yellow. Pear juice, fresh apple and lovely tart citric lambic notes.
