Bottle. Pours clear amber with small off-white head. Clear aroma of rye malt, yeast and fruit, with subtle touches of hops. Sour flavour (not past BBD!) with heavy metal notes and touches of malt. Lingering, sour and grainy aftertaste. Off? Needs re-rating.

Bottle, 5.3%. Weak banana and citrus aroma. Cloudy amber/brown colour. OK stable tan head. The flavour is metallic and very citric. Long metallic aftertaste. Seems off, but is not past BB date.

Hazy amber with large head and lots of big bubbles in the beer. Aroma is malt, some yeast, and maybe a hint of rye.

Bloem geur. Fruiting en frisse geur.zoete bloemen. Schuim is snel weg en heeft meer weg van een dikke prik laag die weg prikt. Smaak is erg zuur. Mij iets te zuur. Hints van roggen als nasmaak. Zoetjes, weingummi zuur.

Bottle 50cl, got gushing as well. A cloudy dark amber beer with head that goes down quickly. Aroma is quite sour with low body, is that normal on this one ? Grainy, light acidity, dry wheat, very boring.

(bottle) Cloudy, copper to dark amber colour with a firm mid-sized tanned foamy head. Delicately toasted malty aroma with hints of rye bread and citric fruity notes. Surprisingly sour flavour, light bodied with a modest carbonation. Sourish dark malty and slightly bready taste with sourish fruity notes, but also mildly tosted accents; sour and rather slim finish with a toasty and delicately caramelly edge. Uncommon but not completely bad. 20.IV.13

Bottle. Murky brown color. Rye bread and floral notes in the aroma. Sourish flavor. Grainy with citrus. Short aftertaste. Quite un-German if you ask me.

500 ml bottle from Wasana’s in Germany. Pours and unclear brown with a light brown fast to go head. Aroma is a strange spicy sweet malt. Taste is pretty rough. The same as the aroma but over taken by esters. Palate is weak but sad and sour. Skip this one.

UPDATED: APR 27, 2013 Pours a murky brown with lazy carbonation and miniscule head, looks and smells like an unfiltered apple cider. Aroma is definitely rye, dark bread, apples. Taste is mildly sour, pumpernickel, apples. Mouthfeel is medium and slick, no sense oif the carbonation at all, and no lingering aftertaste, A tricky beer, and not too many of this sort to compare it to. I’ll give Sudmeister the benefit of the doubt in this one.

UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 Bottle shared with McTapps. Taste of rye bread, pumpernickel, old cheese and hops. Not easy to drink, it is even quite dull and awful.
