2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured at evaston, deep block in color. Taste is softest of the three dark beers. More hoppy than malty.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light and roast heavy with a fumy character. So, lots of flavor but easy to keep drinking maybe too much black patent but I like the lightness of rhe beer contrasting with the heavy roast.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap at Suds Brothers, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and dry cocoa. Flavour is fairly bitter, with toasted malt and bitter dry cocoa on the finish. Medium-light body, with not much going on. Decent.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap - Brewery - Nice dark brown color, clear with a thin head. Nice chocolaty roast in the nose. I like the flavor as it was a drinkable porter with good dark malts added coco. Very respectable brew. Good dry finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
on tap 7/21/10.
darker than usual porter brown color... black at the center with a khaki head.
ash is up front on the aroma... behind that are notes of cream, roast, nuttiness and bittersweet cocoa.
the flavor leans heavily on cocoa nibs and their tartness along with the other characteristics from the aroma. coffee shows up near the finish and lingers into the aftertaste. .
it is medium bodied. it feels a bit dull on the palate from low carbonation issues but it is dry enough to drink a bunch of. 6/4/6/3/14/3.3

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at the brewery. Dark brown. Heavy toasted black patent malt and chocolate malt, moderately heavy roast. Slightly lactic in the nose and tasted as well - comes across as chocolate whipped cream at times but it’s very lightly acidic and annoying at other times. Straightforward porter, no surprises.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2008 On tap at the brewpub in Evanston Wyoming. Pours a dark brown, nearly black color with a large light brown head. The aroma is full of coffee and some light chocolate and roasted malts. The flavor was initially quite strong coffee, but later the coffee mellowed and the milk chocolates and rich roasted malts came through. The mouthfeel was medium and the finish was fairly dry and earthy. Very nice. My first beer from these guys and it was a good one.
