3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
(on tap @ Brauhaus Südstern; 2012 edition, called Premium Pils now since the championship is over, but still advertised as EM Pils 2012 on their website) Golden colour, slightly hazy, white head. Crisp and refreshing. Aroma has a lot of grapefruit/citrus, the cascade hops are doing their job quite nicely. Light bitterness, not too sweet. Light to medium body. Wouldn’t call this a classic German pilsener. Otherwise very enjoyable.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tap, this one for the 2012 EM, don’t know if the recipe is different or not. Bright golden, lightly hazy with a soapy white head, nose is pure Cascade, though they’re a touch green. Flattish medium-full body, again, Cascade leads the way, but there’s a mashy middle body leading to a bready aftertaste. Sweetish. I want my Pils to be lighter and much crisper, but this still has a nice flavor.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Well hopped, lovely hazy gold. Full malty body, saaz aroma hops fill the mouth. Just enough flowers, just enough bitterness.
