The perfect blend of West Coast piney citrus hop aromas mixed with the crisp refreshment of a German Helles lager. This classic lager style is dry-hopped with copious amounts of Amarillo, Simcoe and Cascade hops to create a new-age West Coast craft lager like none other.

Tap in Davis, CA. Clear pour, some decent hop aroma but not a whole heck of a lot going on in the flavor. Perfectly drinkable but I wish I’d ordered a Racer 5 instead. Which I went to do.

Bottle in The Olive Tree tasting room. Dank hops aroma with candied grapefruit and faint pineapple. Clear gold under white wisps and collar. Pleasant hops juice flavour. Amarillo dominates, but citrusy Cascade I’d not far behind. Moderate bitterness. Moderate carbonation, smooth.

Poured from the 12oz can into a shaker glass. Golden color with a thin white head. Aroma is mild but slightly sweet and grainy with some floral hops. Flavor has some light breadiness with a bit of grainy sweetness and some nice bittering hops at the finish. Light bodied. Pretty mild overall but decent flavor and refreshing.

Hazy copper pour. Herbal, lemon tea, mineral, slightly catty aroma. Medium bodied. Taste is pretty hop- lemony, with some soft caramel malts deep in the backdrop. Finishes dry with notes of lemon and Yerba Maté. Ok.

Bottle. Grassy nose, bready, some pine. Gold/amber color, 1-cm head. Thin pleasant malty initial, lightly sweet, gentle grassiness, and tiny lingering bitterness. The gentle dry-hop bitterness is the high point. Thin-medium body. A bit thick for a lager, but it is tasty stuff.

Pours clear golden with a white head. The aroma has pine, cream, citrus, bready caramel and some floral notes. It has a medium crisp body with lots of prickly carbonation. The flavor starts a bit sweeter than the aroma with sweet toasted caramel and nicely balanced spicy, piney and zesty hops. The finish is clean, hoppy and bright. Pretty nice.

Tap. Pours clear pale Amber, small off white head, creamy with nice lacing. Aroma is pretty straight pine. Flavor is strong pine resin, light sweet and quite bitter, pretty one dimensional. Light body, lingering bitterness.
