Had on tap at 21st Ammendment as a guest tap. Smelled of sweet bananas and oranges. Taste was same. Decent and enjoyable Hefe. Not outstanding, but good!

3.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Light banana aroma. How hefe. Cloudy gold color with a white head that does a bit of lacing. Starts with banana and yeast, and wheat. Medium bodied, tends to thin as the carbonation effervesces, but it becomes creamy. There is clove development, but not overly much. The ale develops a bitter quality, that battles with the yeast and banana. It’s really very good.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
.3 L sample on tap at the brewpub. No fruit was added. Musty banana-like aroma with some light clove presence. Lightly bready notes in the nose are present as well. Moderately hzy-cloudy murky yellow-ornge body with a small, whitish head. Start is doughy and sweet and a bit sugary. Some light banana yeastiness is in the middle. More sweet breadiness to finish with some light metallic flavors. Pretty straight-forward.

Bottle. Pours cloudy with a large creamy head that disappears to a thin lace. Smells and tastes lightly of bananas. Sharp taste and a little hard on the palate, but still tasty. Light finish that leaves you ready for the next gulp.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Another nice beer from the brewers at Sudwerk. This time around they made good with their Hefe-weizen. Aroma is fruity, like peaches, apples and bananas. Appearance is clear gold in color, nice white head with above-average carbonation. Flavors were light and refreshing, slightly bready, some grains and malt too. Overall quite a refreshing beer on (yet) another Valley summer afternoon.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Slighty hazy gold with a small white head, i didn’t swirl the bottle. Grainy wheaty, yeasty aroma with only a tiny hint of banana; Malty, banana, flavor, but not the best hefe, flavor better than the aroma.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Where’s the hefe in my weizen? I was wanting something a little less filtered. Does not compare with other examples of hefe. This is more of an American wheat ale. Light, easy drinking, quenching summer beer. Disappointing, frankly, because I truly like some of Sudwerk’s other offerings.
