Bottle from Whole Foods in Redwood City, CA. Flowery, maybe Orange Blossoms and wheat-y. Definitely not my favorite style but this was floral and fruity.

On tap at Capitol Beer & Tap Room. Pours light gold with a nice white head and aclight floral aroma. There is a slightly sour wheat flavor with a dry finish.

On tap at Sacramento Brewing. This cloudy yellow beer poured with a thin white head and a flowery wheat aroma. The wheat base is tasty and there is a fair amount of hop bitterness with some banana ester.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Strong banana clove vanilla and bready aroma
Pours a hazy golden color with white frothy head that starts to disappear
Clove and banana flavor with bready malts. A bit heavy on clove for me
Medium light bodied with medium high co2, lingering clove spice finish
Not one of my favorite Bavarian style hefes. Yeasty clove phenol is a bit too overpowering for me.

Fresh with an intensive lemon taste. Doesn’t look like a real Hefeweizen though: not enough fermentation, i.e. froth. And also not tasting yeasty enough, imho.

Keg at Underbelly, SD, 15/11/14.
Hazed golden orange with a well appointed off white head.
Nose is spice, light tropical fruit notes, apricot, straw.
Taste comprises tangy apricot, yeast esters, clove, tangerine, straw.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Nice refreshing beer but not really true to the style as I know it, fair dose of hops and a big tropical fruit infusion, tasty.

"a little light and weak for my taste, even as hefes go. the aroma is weaker than the lemon added on the glass, so nothing great there. the yeast and clove/banana flavors don’t really come out from the shadow of the citrus. not one of their better ones."

Fresh on tap at the brewery. Gold, clear, off-white head. Great banana-clove German hef yeast character, nice wheat malt character, finishes with a bread-cracker malt character. Balanced. I’m rating this higher than most people, and maybe the freshness factors in. This beer was a very nice German hef yeast character showcase and was well-made.
