"a little light and weak for my taste, even as hefes go. the aroma is weaker than the lemon added on the glass, so nothing great there. the yeast and clove/banana flavors donít really come out from the shadow of the citrus. not one of their better ones."

Fresh on tap at the brewery. Gold, clear, off-white head. Great banana-clove German hef yeast character, nice wheat malt character, finishes with a bread-cracker malt character. Balanced. Iím rating this higher than most people, and maybe the freshness factors in. This beer was a very nice German hef yeast character showcase and was well-made.

Draft as part of a flight at Sudwerk in Davis, CA. Clear lemonade yellow with off-white head. Aromas of yeast, banana, light spices, herbs. Tastes of banana yeast, herbs. Light body with a dry finish.

(bottle from Sparky, thanks!) Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a significant amount of fizzy carb jetting up the glass and a medium white fluffy head. Aroma contains a ton of stale bread, light skunk, perhaps coriander, and maybe a little bit of funk. Smells more like an attempt at a belgian ale than a hefeweizen. Flavor tastes a little more reminiscent of the style, with an abundant amount of wheat bread, faint banana chip, lingering lemon, with a snappy, dry finish that could be mistaken for being bitter. Mouthfeel is creamy and carb is spot on. Overall this isnít an exemplar of the style, but itís pretty refreshing and would make for a nice summer session beer.

Pours a hazy yellow with about one inch of white foamy head. Wheaty and yeasty on the nose with some spice. Flavor falls flat a bit. Finishes somewhat dry. Overall refreshing.

Bottle from Total Wine Glendale. Pours opaque yellow with a half inch of white foam. Not much on the nose. A bit fruity on the tongue but not particularly bright or interesting. Finishes dry. Eh!

On tap @ Smoqued BBQ @ Tree-Fidy for kill the keg night. Hazed orange/yellow pour with a white head. Decent clove aroma with some hints of banana. Bread, grain, and some lemon peel. Lightly tart. The flavor is decently spicy and has some good clove notes. Mild banana, some wheat bread, water, and lemon.

Draft. Hazy yellow with white head. Citrus and grass aroma quite a sweet lemony taste to start with some spices at the end. Much more fruity than most authentic German hefeweizen but a refreshing summer drink when in California

Draft. Aroma he slightest bit of malt with the hefe yeast taking it over. The appearance a hazy yellow with a thin white head. The taste starts slightly citrus hefe then slides into a spicier almost pepper hefe flavor. The palate leaves a yeasty hefe flavor on palate. Overall, a decent hefe. Would try again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
