3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 thetmaxx (382) - West Sacramento, California, USA - JUL 16, 2011
Poured into a shaker glass on tap @ brewpub. Aroma is nice, appear ancee is good, nicee lacing down the glass. Flvour is good, very nice for what seems like a typical ipa. Bitterness is balanced, and medium full body is proper for This beer.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Nik925 (584) - California, USA - DEC 14, 2008
Great aroma on this one. Good hop taste, but the bitter is a little much. Very different from the San Diego style IPAs I have been having lately, much more upfront sweetness and crazy lingering bitter. Good, but old school, ?, maybe...Will call it good for what it is.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bb (4577) - Alamo, California, USA - NOV 13, 2007
Draft. Copper color with an off-white head. Citrus aroma with light pine. Citrus, slight malt, pine, grass flavor. Medium body. Lingering citrus, caramel, and pine. Low bitterness for an IPA, but better overall than I’d heard.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Taverner (1037) - San Ramon, California, USA - JUL 16, 2008
Very bitter and refreshing. Full of bittering hops with not much in the way of florals. Still, there are some. It lacks the dankness of a truly great IPA, or the pure floral outburst of an outstanding IPA. The nose is biscuity with the small amount of florals in this one. Not very balanced - not much to chew on either.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 timfoolery (587) - California, USA - DEC 21, 2007
On tap at Sudwerk. This brew is an excellent example of the genre. Very hoppy, strong brew that doesn’t let up and gives a strong aftertaste. Very good... comparable to Sierra.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ChillCoat (1030) - Concord, California, USA - APR 11, 2007
Draft at Sudwerk. Clear light copper color with a white head. Malty aroma with an almost liverish yeast smell. A malt forward English style IPA. Nicely bittered but with little hop aroma. The strange yeast character carries over into the flavor as well.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 SamGamgee (2451) - down the whirlpool, California, USA - AUG 17, 2008
On tap at the brewery. Amber with a lasting head. Not very aromatic, with some earthy hops and toasty malt. The flavor is a dry, toasty malt flavor with plenty of bitterness and not too much floral or fruity hop flavor. Alright, but not one of their better beers.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (6707) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 30, 2009
An amber IPA with a thin creamy white head. A rather strong butterscotch aroma, wiht light c-hops. In mouth, a crisp malt with light British hops, very mild and boring. Medium bodied. On tap at brewpub, August 27 2009.
