COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Choice hops and five different specialty malts are combined to produce this rich, amber and copper-toned lager. Sweeter in flavor than Sudwerk’s other core offerings, the Märzen has a full robust character with a smooth, zen-like finish.

Draft as part of a flight at Sudwerk in Davis, CA. Clear amber with off-white head. Aromas of caramel, toast, citrus. Tastes of sweet malt, spices, citrus fruit and peel. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Pours a clear amber with minimal white head. Very malty with some caramel and toffee. Somewhat sweet. Medium bodied with a semi sweet finish. Better than I expected.

Bottle: Amber with slight haze. Frothy white head that dissipates quickly. Honey, caramel, malty aromas. Darker malt spectrum moving to a heavier profile rather than fresh. Dry rather than sweet. Bitter finish. Not sour but crisp mid palate.good wieght but coarse.

Overall decent beer. Pours a nice amber color with a light white head. Smells nice, herby and floral. Taste is refreshing and crisp, but has a weird aftertaste, almost soapy (not the glass). Had on tap at Billcos. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12 oz. bottle. It pours a nice clear reddish amber color with an off white/orangy head. The aroma is very malty with some caramel and fruit, but mostly malty grains. The flavor is strong and complex with toasty and fruity malts and a nice noble hop presence near the finish. A really satisfying yet easy to drink beer. A near perfect Octoberfest.
